Art and being creative is itself therapeutic. Art Therapy is about the creative process (not the finished art) expressing, exploring and discovering the inner world of the client with the guidance of a trained
Art Therapist. You don’t need to have any artistic abilities or knowledge of art methods to work and gain the benefits of Art Therapy. The created artwork and its intended or subconscious meaning are unique, spoken by the imaginative language of the individual’s inner self. It is through this not spoken dialogue and self-expression that experiences we all face as children, adolescence and adults can be transformed into deeper understanding and self awareness. Emotions and feelings often difficult to find a voice are given a vehicle for outlet and a canvas for expression. Art and Creative Therapies provide a proven beneficial and powerful process to facilitate this healing. Myself as a Transpersonal Art Therapist, I believe strongly in the holistic philosophy that the Mind, Body and Soul must be connected and balanced to be truly healthy. Treating the mind without looking at the physical or treating the body without nurturing the soul doesn’t promote a long-term healthy maintained existence. Our energy levels, our general daily health and our positive, motivational thoughts must together be given greater understanding and healing.

We’re using art therapy to reduce burnout 🎨

Art therapy gives our staff a safe space to express feelings through creativity, helping process emotions that are hard to put into words.

Our study with Queen Mary University of London found:
✅ Staff who joined art therapy felt half as burnt out
✅ Lower stress, anxiety and depression
✅ Benefits lasted at least three months

Meet Moose, our newest (and furriest) team member! 🐾

This golden retriever isn’t just cute, he’s part of a new animal-assisted therapy program in Addiction and Mental Health Services.

Backed by research, Moose helps patients feel calmer, build trust, and stay engaged in therapy.

As we celebrated Queensland Mental Health Week (4–12 October), Moose is furry keen to help his local community.
