Motum is Western Australia's one-stop destination for clinical expertise and clever equipment.

We are a referral-based (by appointment!) service with clinics in Osborne Park and Bunbury. Everyone has the right to sit comfortably and having a disability doesn't mean forgoing a sense of adventure in life. Motum is a Western Australian business owned and run by therapists and postural specialists. We stock an extensive range of clever, off-the-shelf seating and mobility equipment for infants, children and adults.

SPREADING THE JOY

Seeing Emmi in her Josi-Go stroller really shows why different types of assistive technology are vital for achieving access and inclusion.

This little video of Emmi and her delight at completing her first half marathon with her Dad, absolutely won our hearts (and saw her claim second place) in our My Motum Moves competition at the end of last year.

GOING WILD

Introducing our recent competition WILD CARD winner Joey (AKA. 🙌🏼)

We had SO MANY awesome entries however this contribution from our long-time client Joey took an early lead when ‘Wild card’ votes were being awarded.

As noted by multiple judges (eg. Motum team members) seeing Joey using his Outback 4x4 to tow tree branches while listening to drum and bass was a hoot, as was his approach to lawn mowing (click back to our profile to see this as we’ve made the photo of this the reel’s cover pic).

Merry Christmas and happy festivities from the Motum team! 💕

Yesterday we came together as a group to sign off on another big year...and also to celebrate Ken's (second 😅) retirement!

While Ken may have dodged a photo we all donned one of him in his honour! The question is...will we be 'Kenough" without our cool, calm Ken troubleshooting in the background?! 😜

Over the past few months, we’ve been giving you a peek behind the curtain — sharing what goes on behind-the-scenes at Motum.

Now it’s your turn!

We’d love for you to share a snapshot into your world — and show us how your Motum-supplied equipment helps you live, play, work, travel, compete, and celebrate the moments that matter most.

That’s right… the MY MOTUM MOVES Competition is back for 2025! 🎉

📸 How to enter:
You can enter by sharing photos and/or videos showing what you’ve been up to since handover day. Your equipment can be any age (it doesn’t need to have been supplied in 2025), and just needs to have been scripted by one of our team.

Once you’ve selected your entry, you can contribute in one of three ways:

ALWAYS WANTING MORE

Here Andrew, one of our Clinical Directors (and, let’s be clear, the Motum team member who dislikes having his photo taken the most!) was caught chatting to our technician Dale about a new product line of practical accessories they’ve been designing for wheelchair users.

This project started from simple conversations about things that really meant something to them...and that we could factor in when designing a wheelchair to enhance their independence.

The end results have included in some clever creations to maximise the real estate we have to work with on both manual and powered wheelchairs including:

🥤🎣 A combined drink and fishing rod holder

📱💦 A mobile phone AND water bottle holder in one

🐾 A dog lead holder for four legged friends

☔ An umbrella holder

FLEXIBLE SOLUTIONS

Did you know that we have more than 150 different demo cushions that we use for trials across our Osborne Park and Bunbury HQs? With there being SO many possible makes, models and sizes to suit different wheelchair users we know its important to have a diverse range of potential options to access.

Our brands include: Spex Seating, Sunrise Medical Jay, Stealth Products, Supracor, Vicair, Ride Designs, VARILITE, Roho, Systam, Matrx Libra and more!

We’re also always happy to work with primary therapists to help recommend options, and where possible coordinate a same day trial so they can see if a specific cushion might work for their clients.

P.S. In keeping with our ‘meet the team’ series… this is Kate. Like in this photo, she’s generally found working behind the scenes, with a hand in the action...😉 She's constantly looking for ways to ensure our clients, referring therapists and own team get the best possible experience when working with (and for!) Motum.

OTs...FOR THE WIN 💪

It's both and the start of so what better time to give the occupational therapists within our team AND that we work with a shout out for their all-round excellence. 🙌🏼 🔥

Our own OTs l (including Kym, pictured here in the foreground, and Kerrie, at the back) will be the first to tell you that no two work days are ever the same... just as every single wheelchair that we script is unique to its owner! (We LOVE seeing your design choices come to life by the way!).

It's time to give a bit of love to our Admin team! They may not be the faces that you see when you visit us but they are certainly names that will appear in your inbox if you work with us!

Nadia (left) and Sue (right) are some of our long-timers, both having been part of the Motum team for many years now 🙌🏼

They, together with Sophie, Nicole, Gemma and Sonia, work behind the scenes to turn all our clinicians' scripts into quotes... and then, as funding approvals come through, into new equipment! 👨‍🦽👩🏿‍🦼
