💙Community Stories 📰 We sat down with Andrea to hear about her journey to becoming a support worker, the people who shaped it, and what keeps her coming back every morning.

Recently, Andrea celebrated two big milestones: Permanent Residency and five years as part of the At Home Care team.

When Andrea Holden talks about the early days, she talks about coffee, community, and music. Long before Andrea joined At Home Care, she ran a community café in England, a place where people with disabilities, particularly the deaf community, worked alongside her, and where community and inclusion were a lived practice.

Recently, Andrea celebrated two big milestones: Permanent Residency and five years as part of the At Home Care team. We sat down with Andrea to hear about her journey, the people who shaped it, and what keeps her coming back every morning.

“Different isn’t less. Different is necessary.”

International Day of People with Disability - Australia has created an insightful video featuring their 2025 Ambassadors discussing their big questions on how we can build a more inclusive society.

Today, 3 December, the world acknowledges International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD). The theme for IDPwD 2025 is Fostering disability inclusive societies for advancing social progress.

The theme means we all need to work together to make society fairer and respect the rights of people with disability. To do this, we need to:

✅ Take away barriers that stop people with disability from joining in.
✅ Make sure people with disability have the same chances as others.
✅ Have health care and good education that everyone can use.
✅ Include people with disability in all parts of life.

IDPwD 2025 Ambassadors discuss their big questions on how we can build a more inclusive society.
