Are you looking after your body? What movements do you do to keep yourself in tip top shape?

Here's 7 things you can do to improve your health...

1. Exercise regularly: Aim for at least 30 minutes a day of physical activity (like walking, running, swimming, or cycling). Include resistance or strength training to build and maintain muscle!

2. Get enough sleep: 7–9 hours of quality sleep each night helps your body recover and function properly

3. Eat a balanced diet — Include fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats. Avoid sugars and processed food.

4. Drink plenty of water — Stay hydrated throughout the day (about 2–3L for most adults).

5. Stretch and improve flexibility — Do yoga or stretching to prevent stiffness and injuries.

6. Keep your mind active — Read, learn new skills, or solve puzzles to stay mentally sharp.

7. Manage stress — Try meditation, deep breathing, or spending time in nature.

This info is still very relevant today. Use your brain actively and not just your vision

Researchers in Japan used a highly specialized mind-mapping technology to monitor brain activities in hundreds of teenagers playing Nintendo and compared the results to the brain scans of hundreds of kids doing simple arithmetic calculations.

The researchers found that the only brain activity going on in the brains of the teens playing on the computer was in the areas that control vision and movement.

They found no activity in the frontal lobes.

By contrast, the researchers observed that both the left and the right hemispheres of the kids’ brains doing the arithmetic were highly active.

At the very least, this indicates that parents should monitor the time
children spend playing on the computer.

Surveys show, however, that most parents don’t monitor their children’s computer time. Even parents who monitor TV time don’t necessarily monitor computer time.

Meet our new family members! These girls are our new rescue foster puppies! Peanut (black and white) is the confident boss and Crumpet (grey /merle) is the cuddly one. They are 13-15 weeks old and full of life. They are still little, but are a Great Dane Catahoula cross so will get much bigger.

Whilst the puppies will not be in the room when you are having your treatment, there is a small possibility they may be in the front yard when you arrive. Please let me know if you have any concerns /fears surrounding dogs so that I can make sure they are not around for you.

Please can you also ALWAYS close the gate whether or not you see the dogs. We are having some work done in our backyard and the tradies don’t always remember. Eventually we will have a new sliding gate making life easier for everyone.

My son and I recently completed our full weekend Advanced First Aid qualification which also included assisting in childbirth (😮! - not that I am intending to deliver babies anytime soon, but you never know when you look after pregnant women).

Chiropractors are required to renew their Senior First Aid every 3 years and CPR annually so that is me all up to date and Leo is double qualified too. Proud mum moment! Pretty good for a 16 year old.

Looking forward to what the New Year brings.
