In the video, we discuss how most people spend hours a day in a Fight or Flight stress response. Break the cycle with these 3 essential steps:
1. ๐ Recognition: Learn to recognize when you are entering the fight or flight state or the situations that trigger it.
2. ๐ Plan a State Change: Have a clear plan, often involving Temperature, to quickly shift your state:

๐ง Neurodiversity: The Unseen Cost for Neurotypicals ๐
I wanted to share a thought-provoking perspective on neurodiversity (NDs) ๐ and neurotypicals (NTs) ๐ง.
The interaction between these groups often comes with a hidden cost ๐ธ that we don't always talk aboutโspecifically for NTs.
My son, who is neurotypical, is surrounded by neurodivergent boys at school. He finds the environment exhausting ๐ฉ because he is highly aware of the "chaos" or the different energy dynamics. ๐ฅ
For the Neurotypical: Being a highly sensitive person or "empath" โค๏ธโ๐ฉน means that navigating these differences can be draining ๐โฌ๏ธ. It requires them to constantly regulate their own system ๐ง while around the high energy or different needs of others.
The Reminder for the Neurodivergent: It's important for neurodivergent individuals to remember that the cost is not just their own. They need to be mindful ๐ of the effect they are having on the people around them as well. This can be very hard to remember! ๐ฅ

In a recent case, we found that the patient's pain was a mix of both! The hip mechanics were influencing the lower back (disc), and the back instability was impacting how the hip was loaded. It's a classic example of the body compensating. โ๏ธ

I struggled with meditation because I thought "doing nothing" meant I wasn't achieving anything. Wrong! ๐ โโ๏ธ
By sitting down and letting my brain slow down, the payoff in my daily life is huge:

We often talk about holistic health ๐ฟ, and a big question that comes up is: When is the right time for an MRI or CT scan versus trying conservative care first? โฑ๏ธ
I see two common scenarios:
Jumping to Scans: ๐โโ๏ธ Sometimes people are referred for a scan when they really should have explored conservative care (like seeing a physio, chiropractor, or doctor) first. Give non-invasive methods a chance to work! ๐
Stuck in Treatment: ๐ค The flip side is when someone is receiving care but isn't getting the end result they're looking for. ๐ซ
My Personal Example:
I recently had an MRI on my neck after an old injury flared up (fell from a second story years ago, and then a more recent electric skateboard fall! ๐น). I was getting residual pain, and after trying conservative methods, I decided to get a scan for more information. ๐ก
My takeaway? Don't bury your head in the sand. ostrich Seek care first, and if you aren't getting results, get a scan. ๐ธ If something feels seriously wrong, get the scan for more information right away. The goal is always to get the outcome you're looking for! โ
