I'm Amy Kate - the Psychologist and proud founder and owner of The Mindful Collective. If you're wondering how we came about, grab a cup of tea because I'd love to tell you our story! While studying I continued dreaming about bigger and brighter ideas. I realised that I wanted to decrease the stress levels of as many wonderful people as I could. My favourites are compassion (including self-compassion) and mindfulness. So, The Mindful Collective was created - advocating for (and making accessible in a fun and authentic way) the use of mindfulness and other stress-reduction techniques while also discussing other health and wellness topics. After much reflection, l’ve made the deeply difficult decision to close TMC’s Studio on Friday Nov 28th 2025.

Thank you for trusting me and TMC’s team with your care, for coming into the studio with openness, and for being part of our collective community.

With Evie as our leader, we could do (almost) anything!
✨ Supporting over 1,100 guests through therapy, rippling out to families, workplaces and communities.
✨ Welcoming 300+ guests to events and workshops.
✨ Engaging with 20,000+ people through projects like Saint Belford’s Pledge to Be Well Journal, Insight Timer, Brisbane Theatre Company, BrisStyle, The Dog Mum, ALLKND, GRLKND and Fashion Equipped.
✨ Reaching 50,000+ listeners and readers through podcasts, radio interviews, newsletters, and articles in The Guardian, Marie Claire, and Girlfriend.

I’m incredibly grateful for the team we’ve had during the last 6 years. Their commitment to our values in each of their roles has been inspiring for me, and I’m sure many others. For each member of our team, and particularly our guest services team, the willingness to accept the humanness of our guests, their colleagues and themselves created the warm, welcoming vibe our studio is known for. I will miss our social activities - from ghost tours to smash rooms to sound baths they were such a vibe!!

Finally, I’d love to thank Evie. This darling Italian Greyhound is still incredibly attuned to her environment - grl can read a room! She reminded so many of us that safety can be felt before it is understood. There is incredible power in just being present, non-judgementally accepting everyone as they are. TMC wouldn’t have existed without Evie. I mean… she pretty much chose our studio. She loved meeting every guest and I’m so grateful she was so loved in return.

Thank you for being part of this chapter. We couldn’t have written it without you.

At The Mindful Collective, we’ve seen how powerful it can be when someone finally understands their mind — whether as a child, a teen, or well into adulthood.

We offer both Cognitive Assessments and ADHD Assessments:

✨ A cognitive assessment maps learning and thinking skills — showing strengths and where support can make a difference.

✨ An ADHD assessment looks more closely at attention, focus, and regulation, using conversations, questionnaires, and cognitive tools to see if ADHD is part of the story.

For many, especially those who receive a later-in-life diagnosis, this process is life-changing. It can bring a deep sense of relief, self-compassion, and a whole new way of navigating work, study, and relationships.

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month — a tender reminder that too many families walk with love and loss side by side. At The Mindful Collective, our hearts are with every parent, sibling, grandparent, and friend who carries the memory of a little one gone too soon. 💜

On October 15th at 7pm, we will join the world in the Wave of Light — lighting candles to honour these precious lives and to remind families they are never alone in their grief. As each candle glows across time zones, a continuous circle of light embraces the globe. 🕯️🌍

We invite you to pause with us, light a candle, and take a moment of reflection. Together, our collective light offers warmth, compassion, and connection — gently reminding every heart that their love and their loss are seen. 💜🕊️

Congratulations to Caitlin!

We’re thrilled to announce that Caitlin, is now a Board Approved Supervisor!

Becoming a Board Approved Supervisor is no small feat. This is a significant professional milestone that requires:

At least three years of general registration as a psychologist, and
Completion of the full Board-approved supervisor training program, which includes knowledge assessment, skills workshops, and competency-based evaluation.

As a Board Approved Supervisor, Caitlin is now qualified to provide supervision for:

🧠 Provisional psychologists completing the 4+2 or 5+1 internship pathways
🧠 Higher degree students during placements or working in addition to placements
🧠 Psychologists returning to practice (re-entry programs)
🧠 Overseas-qualified psychologists undertaking transitional programs
🧠 Registrar programs as a secondary supervisor

We’re incredibly proud of Caitlin for reaching this milestone and continuing to grow in the psychology profession.

R U OK? Day 2025 is a reminder that real connection begins with curiosity and compassion.

At The Mindful Collective, we believe that checking in with someone is more than asking a question. It’s creating space for honesty, holding silence when needed, and showing up with genuine care.

You don’t need all the answers.

Here are 4 steps to help guide the conversation:

1️⃣ Ask – “Are you OK?”
2️⃣ Listen – with presence and without judgment
3️⃣ Encourage Action – support them in finding help if needed
4️⃣ Check In – follow up and keep the connection going

Sometimes the most healing thing we can offer is our presence.

Tara brings a calm, compassionate presence to the studio every Saturday morning, specialising in relationship counselling for couples, parents, and families. Her work supports those navigating the emotional complexities of marriage, parenting, and family life—whether you're facing conflict, feeling disconnected, or simply wanting to strengthen the bonds that matter most.
Tara offers a warm, non-judgmental space where you can explore what’s happening beneath the surface. She helps you identify patterns in thoughts, feelings, and behaviours that may be impacting your relationships, and works with you to develop practical strategies for emotional regulation, communication, and deeper connection.

This National Women’s Health Week, we’re embracing the theme Say Yes to You!

So often, women are the ones who show up for everyone else; families, friends, colleagues, communities. But saying yes to your own health, rest, and joy is not a luxury, it’s a necessity.

Saying yes to you might be as simple as taking a breath before the next busy moment, booking that long-overdue appointment, or finally giving yourself permission to slow down. It’s an act of courage, compassion, and self-respect.

At The Mindful Collective, we believe that when women say yes to themselves, they create ripples of strength, care, and balance that flow into every part of life.
