❤️🌻💫 An open letter to myself: 💫🌻❤️

I always wanted to say sorry to you because, most of the time, I fail to love and appreciate you. I always tend to forget that you are special too. I don't value you sometimes, and I even think that you are worthless. I want to say sorry to you for all the times that I've never been kind to you. I should've been more gentle with you. I should've reminded you every day that you were worthy. I should've made you believe that you were enough. I'm sorry— you didn't deserve all the pain that I've caused you.

I want you to know right now that you deserve to love yourself more each day. Speak kind words in front of the mirror and remind yourself that you are a beautiful soul. I want you to know that you should stop settling for less than what you deserve and start finding your worth. You are enough. You are worthy. And most importantly, your existence matters every day.

I met myself one day
after I'd fallen apart

I lay on the ground
limbs shattered and torn
mind tired and weary
heart
broken

Everything lost
and nothing left to lose

Surely the ground would swallow me up?
I thought
I hoped

But it didn't

The earth from which I came
wouldn't reclaim me
I wondered if I were poison?

I lay there a while longer
eyes closed
the earth breathing beneath me
deep exaggerated breaths

I matched its rhythm

and when I did

My limbs stitched back together
My mind relaxed
& my heart began to mend

And...

I saw her

standing there
staring in
and out through my eyes

She reached for me with my mothers hands
smiling a beautiful storied smile

Myself.

I love you, she said

And I believed her

🌻BECOMING A BETTER HUMAN BEING🌻

1-Be who you want to see in others. Be real and honest about who you are.

2-Treat everyone with kindness and respect. Don't belittle or place anyone on a pedestal. We are all humans!

3- Recognize your flaws and shortcomings. Be self-aware and challenge yourself to grow.

4-Recognize your strengths and talents. Every human being has value and can contribute to something.

5- Learn from your mistakes. Forgive yourself. Don’t become a victim of your circumstances. Get up and glow, it's the best form of "revenge" and self-care.

6- Accept constructive criticism, even when it's unsolicited. You don't have to agree with it, but listening with an open mind can help you approach yourself and your life in new ways.

7 - Apologize when you’re wrong. Don't make excuses to justify your hurtful actions. Be humble not prideful.

8- Educate yourself everyday and let others educate you too. We all can learn from each other. Nobody knows and is right about everything.

9- Don’t just forget all the good someone has done to you when they hurt you. Look at the good they once did too.

10- Remember that self-improvement isn’t about reaching perfection. You will make many mistakes, you will be tested, you will fall short, but the most important thing is to keep getting back up.

Dizem que, a partir de uma certa idade, nós as mulheres ficamos invisíveis. Que a nossa atuação na cena da vida diminui e que nos tornamos inexistentes para um mundo onde só cabe o impulso da juventude.
Honestamente, não sei se me tornei invisível para o mundo, é possível que sim. Porém nunca fui tão consciente da minha existência como agora, nunca me senti tão protagonista da minha vida e nunca desfrutei tanto cada momento da minha existência.
Descobri que não sou uma princesa de contos de fadas e descobri o ser humano sensível e também muito forte que sou, com as suas misérias e as suas grandezas. Descobri que posso permitir-me o luxo de não ser perfeita, de estar cheia de defeitos, de ter fraquezas, de me enganar, de fazer coisas indevidas e de não corresponder às expectativas dos outros. E apesar disso…
Gostar de mim!
Quando me olho ao espelho e procuro quem fui… sorrio àquela que sou… Alegro-me do caminho percorrido, assumo as minhas contradições. Sinto que devo saudar com carinho a jovem que fui, mas deixá-la de lado porque agora atrapalha-me, o seu mundo de ilusões e fantasias já não me interessa. There is little you can do to make everyone like you.

Some people will see the real you, straight away. The you with the worries, the fears, the kind heart.
Others will only see what you have that is not theirs. Or who you have. Or a life that sparkles a tad too brightly for their liking.

In Some People’s Story You’re An Angel, In Others You’re The Villain.

And that is pretty much that.

If you are spending any time worrying how others see you, or whether they think you are a good person or not, you are wasting precious time my friend.

Precious time that is much needed elsewhere.

Is is universal truth that you cannot please all of the people all of the time.

That in fact, the best way to get even close to this goal, is to stop trying and to just be your authentic self, with kindness.

Always with kindness.

So, if you have been hurt by an unjust representation of you in someone’s story, take comfort in the fact that it is not the truth.

And that the right people will see that.

Keep your sparkly little light shining and your people will find you.

And they will stay.

And you will never have to convince them of who you are.
