Today we celebrate 🥳 ♿️
International Day Of People With Disabilities!!

IDPwD is a United Nations (UN) day observed internationally. It aims to promote community awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disabilities .

Each year the UN announces a theme to observe for International Day of People with Disability.

The annual theme provides an overarching focus on how society can strive for inclusivity through the removal of physical, technological and attitudinal barriers for people with disability.

This has been occurring since 1992 when the General Assembly announced the 3rd of December as the International Day of Disabled Persons.

In Australia, IDPwD is a joint effort between government, schools, organisations, community groups, businesses and individuals.

The theme for IDPwD 2025 is Fostering disability inclusive societies for advancing social progress.

💉🩸World Diabetes Day 🩸 💉

World Diabetes Day falls on November 14, with the aim to promote awareness of diabetes and diabetes-related issues on a global scale.

In 2024, Diabetes Australia launched Diabetes YOUnited, to provide all
Australians living with diabetes access to the support they need.

Millions of Australians are living with diabetes, and the impact is significant.

Type 1 vs Type 2

⭐️ Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune condition where the body destroys insulin-producing cells, resulting in little to no insulin. ⭐️ Type 2 diabetes is a progressive condition where the body either doesn't produce enough insulin or becomes resistant to it, leading to high blood sugar.

Diabetes does not define who you are or prevent you from enjoying and participating in life. This is a significant ‘hidden’ chronic medical condition that requires daily management and can take a significant toll on a person mentally and physically.

Adult Punnet (over 13 yrs old) - $9.99

Currently we only have these options available and not any bring your own picking bucket or any other item. We will let you know if supply increases and this changes.

Invisible Disabilities Week

💙 Listen 💙 Believe 💙 Support

Purpose: To bring awareness, education, and support to people with non-visible disabilities.
Date: It is celebrated annually in October for a week.
Origin: Founded by the Invisible Disabilities Association (IDA) in 2014.

Examples of Invisible Disabilities
Chronic pain, Fatigue, Dizziness, Cognitive dysfunctions, Brain injuries, Learning differences, Mental health disorders, Hearing and vision impairments, Sensory processing difficulties, Respiratory conditions

Why It Matters..
✅ Challenge Misperceptions: It combats the common misconception that a disability is only visible.
✅ Promote Inclusivity: Encourages society to be more understanding and supportive of people with non-visible disabilities.
✅ Support Those in Need: Provides a platform for people with invisible disabilities to share their experiences and seek the help they need.
