Tonight the lovely Leanne from will be running an 8pm meditation session.

Leanne has a background in sound healing, life coaching, kinesiology, EFT tapping, and holistic vocal coaching. She will also be running these sessions every Thursday so add this to your calendar now.

Tonight’s focus is self-compassion — not as a concept we have to “get right”, but as something we can slowly feel into.

Her sessions will include a touch of visualisation, a little journaling, immersion in the soothing sounds of singing bowls, and a guided meditation to help everything connect gently.

If this sounds like just what you were looking for, book your place via the link in our bio.

We look forward to seeing you there 🙏💕

Lebanese mujadara

This easy Lebanese dish is not only delicious & hearty… it is also a great source of carbohydrates, protein & fibre! It is also a great low cost meal that feeds a whole family without breaking the bank.

Ingredients:

Mujadara
- 1.5 cups of brown lentils
- 2 cups of basmati rice
- Salt & pepper
- Ghee
- Olive oil
- 5 yellow onions diced

Yoghurt:
- 1 cup of greek yoghurt
- 1 and a half or 2 Lebanese cucumbers
- Dried mint

Salad:
- whatever you like. But I usually do a simple salad of cos lettuce, tomato, capsicum, avocado & fresh herbs
- EVOO

Method
- rinse your lentils well & then in a medium pot add your lentils and cover them well with water adding salt. Bring the lentils to the boil & once boiling reduce to a simmer. Cook for 10 minutes or until the lentils are soft but not mushy. Drain and set the lentils aside
- Put a ceramic pot on the stove and add a good amount of olive oil and ghee. Once melted add the roughly chopped onions. Set the heat on medium to high, allow to cook and stir occasionally until soft and brown.
- Meanwhile wash the rice well & once onions are cooked add the rice and lentils to the ceramic pot. Add in salt and pepper to taste and optional cinnamon. Cover with 2 inches of water and bring to a boil. Put a lid on and reduce the heat and simmer over low heat until the lentils and rice are cooked (usually 20-25 minutes)
- Whilst the rice and lentils cooked make the yoghurt dish and the salad. To make the yoghurt peel the cucumber and dice them, then add the yoghurt, cucumber and mint to a big bowl, stir to combine and adjust based on taste

This is just one version of mujadara & one our resident nutritionist has been gravitating to recently.

Soul Movement Studio

Hi! I’m Paula. Welcome to Soul Movement Studio! The vision was born around 2 years ago. It was out of a desire to combine fitness with mindfulness. Fitness has always been a big part of my life. Having been a Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor for the past 10 years, I have had the absolute privilege of helping my clients not only improve their fitness but also increase their energy, confidence and motivation in other areas of their life. Because that’s the thing about exercise, the lessons you learn about yourself when you are challenged, when you are pushed out of your comfort zone, when you want to stop but tell yourself “just one more rep”, they don’t stop at the gym. The workout becomes a metaphor for life: if you can get through your workout then you can get through anything. I truly believe exercise if a gift. A gift we can give to ourselves to show us how strong, capable and resilient we truly are.

Mindfulness. Because much of the pain and suffering we experience daily arises from our thoughts, not the actual reality of what is happening. It took me going through a very challenging time about 4 years ago to come to this realisation. After reading many books and eventually having enough courage to look within through mediation I started to see the impermanence of my thoughts and emotions. Just like the waves in the ocean or the clouds in the sky, all emotions, all thoughts, good and bad... pass by. I still have my ups and my downs but underneath the turbulence, I know there is a constant: the peace I was longing for.

Most of us know we need to exercise more for our health but we also know that our minds need down time. Whether consciously or unconsciously, I believe that we are desperately seeking an opportunity to disconnect from technology, to step away from the hustle and bustle, to break away from the constant demands that draw our attention everywhere but the one place that will bring us true peace and fulfilment... within.

So my purpose for Soul Movement Studio is to provide a space for you to connect with yourself and those around you. To be fully present when you workout… in body, mind and spirit. To break out of comfort zones and then take the opportunity to reflect on and celebrate the wonderful gift you have just given yourself. With this intention in mind and heart, I have developed a series of programs including SoulStrength, SoulPower, SoulFusion and SoulYoga, all designed to energise the Body, empower the Mind and uplift the Soul.
