Celebrating Different Minds: Neurodiversity Celebration Week (16–20 March)

This week, we join the global movement to recognise and celebrate the unique talents of neurodivergent individuals. Neurodiversity isn’t just about awareness; it’s about action, acceptance, and building a world that understands it takes all kinds of different minds to thrive.

Whether in our schools or our workplaces, embracing diverse ways of thinking - from Autism and ADHD to Dyslexia and beyond - drives innovation and fosters a truly inclusive culture.

Let’s move beyond the stereotypes and focus on the strengths!

How are you celebrating neurodiversity this week?

Hope you’ll think about joining in this fun and healthy activity and help build resilient community!

Sanctuary Runners Australia is a new volunteer-led initiative, launching in March 2026, connecting people of diverse cultures through running, jogging and walking.

Free and open to all, we create a welcome space where people who have recently arrived in Australia, including refugees, migrants and those seeking asylum, can build friendships with the wider community through movement.

Originally founded in Ireland in 2018, Sanctuary Runners has grown to more than 40 groups across Ireland and Great Britain. Now, we’re thrilled to begin building communities here in Australia.

Supported by the Refugee Council of Australia and a growing community of organisations, our mission is simple:
🤝 Build bridges
🩵 Promote a culture of welcome
🏃‍♀️‍➡️ Improve wellbeing
🌏 Create a community of belonging

Our first activity will take place in Auburn on Saturday 21 March 2026, where members will participate in a local 5km parkrun.

Free Sanctuary Runners blue shirt provided to all participants 🩵

Another incredible honour for our CEO, Elfa Moraitakis!

We’re delighted to share that Elfa Moraitakis has been named the 2026 Blacktown Woman of the Year by Blacktown City Council - a remarkable achievement and her second time receiving this honour, having first been awarded in 2017.

Monday morning, Council hosted a special breakfast to celebrate the contributions of outstanding women across the region. The award was accepted on Elfa’s behalf by Sonia Kalsi, Team Leader Women & Families at SydWest, who represented both Elfa and our organisation with pride.

This recognition highlights Elfa’s long standing leadership, unwavering commitment to empowering multicultural communities and the lasting positive impact she continues to make across Western Sydney.

Please join us once again in congratulating Elfa on this well deserved achievement! We are honoured to have her guiding SydWest and championing the communities we serve.

Happy Zero Discrimination Day! 🎉 Let's unite in celebrating diversity, embracing love and acceptance for all!

We are proud to recognise Zero Discrimination Day today that celebrates the right of everyone to live a full and productive life—and live it with dignity.

Zero Discrimination Day highlights how people can become informed about and promote inclusion, compassion, peace and, above all, a movement for change. Zero Discrimination Day is helping to create a global movement of solidarity to end all forms of discrimination.

At Riverlink, we believe social justice is only truly achieved when it includes people of all abilities.

True inclusion in Australia means removing the barriers that prevent people with disability from fully participating in their communities. We are proud to share this post from SydWest Multicultural Services (our mother ship) and stand together for a society where everyone—regardless of their background or capability—has a fair go and the right to live with dignity.

Happy World Day of Social Justice! 🎉

Let’s come together in unity, celebrate our beautiful diversity, and champion equality for all. 🤝💖
Today is a powerful reminder to uplift the voices of those who are often unheard and to commit ourselves to building a fairer, more inclusive world.

Share your stories, honour cultural traditions, and spread kindness wherever you go. Together, we rise.

Stay safe everyone!

Stay safe everyone!

Safer Internet Day – 10 February 2026 ✨

Today we join millions around the world in recognising Safer Internet Day, a global movement uniting communities, schools, organisations and families across more than 180 countries to help create safer, kinder and more positive online spaces.

In Australia, the day is led by eSafety, encouraging all of us to start conversations, share tips, and take small everyday actions that build a better internet for everyone. esafety.gov.au

This year’s message is clear:
💙 Be kind in every online interaction
🔐 Protect your space with strong privacy settings and safe habits
🗣️ Speak up by reporting abuse or harmful content
📱 Balance your time online
👥 Start the conversation with family, friends, colleagues and community

The internet connects so many parts of our lives - work, learning, socialising and creativity - which makes online safety more important than ever. Safer Internet Day is our reminder to pause, reflect and help ensure these spaces remain positive and inclusive for all.

Let’s work together for a safer, more supportive digital world.
