Take one day at a time challenge

I was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer in March 2024
Had mascetomy
Thought cancer wasn't coming bk for five years.
Unfortunately it came bk worse after a year.
Was depressed and full of fear.

Project One Day at a time ..
My personal blog sharing a journey I'm on with healing .

Episode 1..
My name is Ivona 58 years old . A good wife , loving mother to my three boys and girl and a great grandma to my 15 grandchildren.
I also love my children in law very much.

Cancer came like a thief in the night . One day I was well , the next day it crossed path with me.
Mum had just passed December 2022.
I was her carer .
I decided to take two months off to grieve then look for a job .
I applied for one job and was so excited to have been offered one in my area of mental health.
I bought myself some wine and celebrated .
Around 8 pm the phone rang .
It was my Dr.
Bad news n I better go see him next day. I asked him to tell me over the phone actually I begged him.
That was March 1 st 2023. 10 weeks after mum passed.
Wasn't in the state mentally to digest nor accept the diagnosis.
What did I decide to do ? Of course drain my sorrows a whole month straight not everyday but weekend binging .
Not a healthy start esp someone in my field .
Depression, victimisation, and fear esp took a toll on me .
I'll be sharing my journey regularly in the hope of helping someone out there.
One day at a time.
That was my late mum's fav song .
