I educate social work students on integrating a sexuality awareness practice approach.

A recent publication shows social workers had little knowledge of PMS/PMDD, and none recalled clients disclosing PMS/PMDD to them, and none included the topic in their assessments.

Hi, I’m Dr George Turner. I'm a social work academic, researcher, clinician, and educator at Western Sydney University.

I’m passionate about sexual health and relationship wellness, and I believe everyone deserves the right to pleasure, happiness, and authentic connection.

To make this possible, we need to prepare future social workers to confidently and compassionately talk about topics that are too often left in the shadows — sexuality, disability, and meaningful relationships.

By equipping students with these skills, we can break down taboos and build a world where all people are supported in living fully, freely, and authentically.

My students showcased a powerful and provocative applied project... Cripping Sex: A Rebellion in 11 Photos. More than an assessment... students orchestrated a community conversation of sex positivity, disability inclusion and visibility on the lack of sexual healthcare accessibility. These students are going to be fierce professionals!
