Yesterday, our community came together at the Nepean River for something truly meaningful 💙💛
Our very first Get Down for Down Syndrome Walk, held on World Down Syndrome Day (21 March), was all about the individuals and families living with Down syndrome — celebrating ability, connection, and inclusion. This year’s theme, together against loneliness, was felt in every step, every conversation, and every moment of togetherness.
The turnout for our first event was incredible, showing just how powerful community can be when we come together with purpose.
We were honoured to have Todd Carney and Melissa McIntosh (Shadow Minister for the NDIS and Social Services) join us — not just for speeches, but walking alongside our community and speaking so passionately about creating a more inclusive and accessible future.
Thank you to our incredible sponsors who kept the energy high with refreshment and cheer stations along the way. Your support made a real difference.
A special mention to our littlest participant at just 8 weeks old, and to all the determined little legs who took on the full 7km
This event was proudly created by our Operations Manager Alice, with support from our Business Development Manager Erica, a vision brought to life through months of planning and dedication.
Congratulations to Georgia, our first finisher, crossing the line in record time 🏅
If you missed it, you missed something special… but don’t worry, we’ll be back next year, even bigger 🙌
