Our Village welcomed the Lunar New Year in style! The day started with a celebratory lunch inspired by traditional Lunar New Year flavours. The festivities continued with a special visit from the dragons, bringing colour, excitement, and plenty of smiles! 🐉🎉
It was a fantastic way to start the year together – celebrating community, culture, and connection. Here’s to a happy,healthy,y and joyful year ahead for all our residents and families! 🥂💛

We’ve received our delivery of Christmas cakes from the Emu Plains Lions Club! All profits have been generously donated to the Royce Simmons Foundation, an incredible total of $1,000. 🎄💛

Today, our residents gathered to reflect and honour those who served, commemorating 80 years since WWII and 50 years of the Australian War Graves. We were grateful to have Defence Force members join us at The Royce memorial service, bringing added significance as we paid our respects to past and present servicemen and women.

On World Gratitude Day, our residents and staff shared what they’re most grateful for, writing each thought on a petal. Together, the petals formed vibrant flower collages, filling our walls with colour and heartfelt words. 🌼✨

This week marks the beginning of Dementia Action Week 2025. This year’s theme “Nobody can do it alone” is a powerful reminder that people living with dementia, along with their families and carers, need strong networks of support. ❤️
This week, The Royce is hosting basket weaving, clay art, painting, and a memory walk — activities that inspire creativity, stimulate the brain, and strengthen community.

Dementia Action Week is a major leadership, awareness and advocacy campaign led by Dementia Australia as the peak body for people living with dementia, their families and carers.

Annual Campfire Evening at The Royce ✨🔥

Our Annual Campfire Evening was a night to remember! Residents and families gathered around the fire for an evening filled with music, laughter, and sweet treats. 🎶🍫
🎤 The night was alive with singing, as residents showed off their talents – from instrument playing to favourites like Go the Mighty Panthers and Let It Be!
🍔 A huge thank you to our Social Committee for serving up gourmet burgers that were an absolute hit.
😅 And special mention to our Village Manager, who had some fun keeping the chocolate fountain flowing (and ended up wearing more chocolate than eating it!) – making her the star of the night.
It was such a warm and wonderful evening together at The Royce – thank you to everyone who joined us. ❤️

Royce’s Big Walk – The Final Stretch 🚶‍♂️💛

Royce is almost there! Over the past few days, the team has made their way from Capertee through to Rylstone, edging closer to Mudgee. There, they’ll wrap this journey up by cheering on the Panthers in a blockbuster clash with the Canberra Raiders on Friday. It’s been an outstanding effort, raising awareness and vital funds for dementia research. Here are some final good luck messages to help the team finish strong! 👏

Royce’s Big Walk 🚶‍♂️

Royce’s Big Walk is in full swing! Yesterday’s leg took the team from Portland to Capertee, and today they continued through Capertee– edging closer to Mudgee every step of the way.

Residents and staff are sending their encouragement as Royce and the team continue to support dementia research. 💛
