Reporting Racism; A step forward to addressing the issue.
The shifting increase of racial abuse towards First Nations people since the Voice referendum and recent neo n**i attacks in Naarm and Boorloo is now being addressed by the Joint Standing Committee on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs who are conducting a Parliamentary Inquiry into Racism, Hate and Violence directed at First Nations People.
For community members and witnesses who would like to make a submission, the National Justice Project and Jumbunna Institute’s Law and Justice Hub are supporting First Nations community members with their submissions.
The Head of Projects and Innovation, Solicitor Ariane Dozer joins Koori Radio to talk about the importance of reporting and how the ongoing Call it Out project addresses First Nations peoples experiences of systemic and institutional racism.
You can contact The National Justice Project to have your submissions for the Parliamentary Inquiry in by April 24 for the public community cut off date of May 1st, 2026.
