Happy Chinese New Year! 🐴🔥
Residents at Georges Estate enjoyed celebrating the year of the Fire Horse by making paper lanterns in craft group and cooking delicious 'Chinese inspired' spring rolls. There was also a trivia event and then we all enjoyed a trip to 'China' by watching 'Mao’s Last Dancer' in the cinema. We finished the week with a Chinese New Year celebration and the resident’s enjoyed entertainment from vocalist Jessica who performed a mixture of Chinese songs.

Today we welcome the Year of the Horse, a symbol of strength, energy, warmth and forward movement.

Around all our Hall & Prior homes, we celebrate the rich cultures and traditions that make up our community. May this new year bring good health, happiness and renewed spirit to all our residents, families and team members.

A Special Valentines! 😍💋❤️
Chocolates for all! Our morning stated with the Georges Estate choir performing love songs for residents, staff, and visitors. The vibe was full of feeling and warmth as we all sang along. Later in the afternoon, the celebration continued with a feast on delicious baked camembert bites and a special Valentine’s Day mocktail. Fiona Maria sang for the residents, which was a mixture of loves songs and familiar favourites.

Lunch @ The Sailing Club 😁🍷🚣‍♀️

Today our residents enjoyed an lunch outing to St George sailing club for lunch. After lunch, we also enjoyed a trip to beautiful Dolls Point for a drive and a walk along the beach. The photos speak for themselves; the residents had a most marvellous time!

On Thursday, 22 January, Hall & Prior stands with the nation in honouring and remembering the 15 innocent lives lost in the tragic Bondi Beach attack on 14 December 2025.

We join communities across Australia in a moment of reflection, unity and compassion, embracing the theme “Light will win - a gathering of unity and remembrance” as chosen by community leaders.

✨ How you might observe this day:
• Take a moment to pause and reflect with a minute of silence at 7.01pm (AEST).
• Light a candle as a symbol of solidarity, love and remembrance.
• Share kindness with others through good deeds, big or small, as a tribute to those we’ve lost.

While this is not a public holiday, it is a time to reflect on how we can support each other, in grief, resilience, and hope.

Our Georges Estate residents had an absolutely wonderful time celebrating Grandparents Day on Sunday, and what a joyful celebration it was! 👵👴🎉

With the grandkids joining in for bouncing castles, face painting and candy, candy, candy, the day was filled with laughter, smiles and special moments that brought everyone together!
