Couldn’t have said it better :)
“Posture is personal.”
From a Feldenkrais perspective, posture is not something to force or fix into a “correct” shape. It is a living expression of how you organise yourself in gravity, shaped by your history, habits, emotions, and intentions.
Rather than asking “Am I sitting or standing correctly?”, we might ask “How am I doing this, and could it be easier?”
When we bring gentle attention to how we move and hold ourselves, we begin to discover options. Effort softens. Breathing frees. Movement becomes more fluid and responsive.
There is no single ideal posture. There is only the one that works for you in this moment and your ability to adapt it when life asks something new.
Awareness creates choice. And choice is where comfort and change begin.
Join us in May for International Feldenkrais Awareness Week to explore more and unpack posture.
