We’re living through a mental health revolution.

AI and mental wellbeing apps are changing the game — improving access, reducing stigma, and reaching people who may never walk into a clinic. There are over 10 000 Wellbeing Apps all over the world currently.

But here’s the truth we need to say louder:
Technology will NEVER replace human connection.

Research shows that AI and App tools can reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety and provide scalable, 24/7 support.
However when it comes to real healing, the evidence is clear:
Human connection is the intervention!!!

Traditional therapy consistently outperforms technology in emotional depth and outcomes. Tech lacks genuine empathy, relational presence, and the ability to truly understand lived experience. Global health bodies warn there is no scientific consensus that Tech can replace trained professionals

And perhaps most importantly:

Mental health is not just clinical — it’s social.

We don’t just need advice. We need to feel seen. Heard. Understood. That’s where real change happens. This is exactly why community-led, face-to-face programs matter more than ever.

At Mens Talk, we’re seeing this firsthand.

Through initiatives like , we’re:

Meeting men where they are — across regional and metro WA

Breaking down barriers of stigma, distance, and cost

Creating safe, informal spaces for real conversations

Building connection before crisis

Because many men won’t download an app… but they will have a chat beside a van, over a coffee, in their own community. And that moment of connection can change everything with the potential to save a life.

Because no algorithm can replace, a handshake, a conversation, a shared experience. Western Australian Mental Health Commission, Australian Men's Health Forum, Primary Health Alliance Primary Health Alliance - WAPHA Richmind WA Mentall
