I just spoiled myself with a 90-minute walk on this beautiful day in Perth. I used to go for walks nearly every day, but with my current studies in Fitness and a full-time job, it is sometimes difficult for me to find time for walks. Anyhow, every time I go for a walk, I appreciate the beautiful weather, nature and animals around me. I even helped to catch an escaped dog today π
Later on, I listened to the NASM-CPT Podcast, episode: 150 Minutes of Physical Activity.
The key message that I want to share with you is that studies show that 150 minutes of moderate-intense exercise (or 75 minutes of vigorous-intense exercise) decreases your risk for heart disease, diabetes and cancers significantly. I really liked their "less sitting more moving approach" that wants to encourage the general population to do more physical activity.
Now I want to encourage you to think about ways that exercise might enhance your daily well-being. When youβre active, are you in a better mood? Less stressed? More energetic?
If you start focussing on these benefits, physical activity transforms into something you WANT to do instead of a chore you feel like you have to do.
