Today on International Womens Day I had the extreme pleasure to hear a keynote from Sue Freeman, a Royal Air Force (RAF) fast‑jet pilot who, after 25 years with the RAF, joined No. 79 Squadron at RAAF Base Pearce as a Hawk jet flight instructor. Sue’s stories are legendary serving in both the UK, Middle East, seeing active service in IRAQ and then training our pilots here in Australia. She had that RAF reserved charm that you would expect with the equally dark humour you might not expect. An interesting charecter but she is likely one of the highest ranked, most experienced, Women in any Air Force in the World. We are lucky to have her here!

Hey there,

I just thought I would let you all know that I never use Ai for my texts in social media posts. I don't let an Ai speak for me.

I may enhance pictures as I am not gifted with drawing, but even the base picture is credited to a real artist in our Perth Community. (Starri.soda) Thank you Starri.

My posts might be less frequent and maybe don't get as many hits as other sites, but I am totally ok with that, because keeping it real is where I think Counsellors need to be.

Today is World Su***de Prevention Day.

It’s a day to honour the memories of those we’ve lost to su***de and to offer support to those facing difficult times and those living with the grief of losing someone.

The message of ‘Changing the Narrative on Su***de’ encourages us to change how we talk about su***de. To replace silence and stigma for empathy, compassion and action.

We all have a role to play in staying connected, showing up for those we care about and helping those struggling access the support they need.

Show the people around you that you’re there for them by asking 'are you OK?'
