AND, THAT’S A WRAP 🌯

Every chapter comes to an end, and, inevitably so, Mai’s chapter with us is now done and dusted. Mai has been an integral part of the team for the last 5 years. Many of you would have met her at some point in time, and we’re sure you’d agree that she’s one of the nicest people you could ever meet!

Her contribution has played a significant role in the day-to-day operations of the clinic, keeping everything afloat. We’re so grateful to have someone we can rely on and grow with.

As much as we will miss her, we also believe her next chapter will be better and brighter still, and that she will blossom like she did during her time here.

Here’s to the next chapter 🥂

there seems to be no shortages of dull moments in December!

All I Want for Christmas is…(pov feet) 👀
🎁 No trolley running over me, no other feet stepping on me, no chairs knocking on me
🎁 Some cushioning from your sandals so I’m not getting shocked all over 🫨
🎁 Sunscreen pleeeeeeease
🎁 Enough room in your shoes for me to get comfy
🎁 Support for me so I can better support you 🫶🏻

Only IF our feet could tell us that, but there are often signs that our feet need some help, like feeling achy at the end of a day, tightness in the feet and legs, big toes moving away from each other (aka bunion), feeling unstable, etc.

It could be that our feet are out of alignment, the arches are collapsing and our biomechanics is being compromised. A lot of foot problems happen as a result of an accumulation of damages to the feet over a long period of time.

It might seem like it happens “all of a sudden”, but it’s often not the case. Much like how high blood pressure or diabetes doesn’t happen “all of a sudden”. The changes have been brewing in the background. It’s just a matter of time before the symptoms show up, and we start paying attention.

So, acting before it’s too late could be on YOUR Christmas wish list this year.

ROLLED IN FEET - AAAAAAAH 😱

With Christmas shopping well under way, we see lots of those at the shops this time of the year. And, they make us go aaaaah errrrrr hmmmm a lot because:
💔 Stumping your toes is definitely not cool
💔 Rolled in feet are a sign of excessive pronation which is a major cause of many foot problems.

The good news is there are some simple things you can do to help your feet help you get those steps done in the shops:
🛒 Say NO to thongs
🛒 Say YES to supportive shoes (+ orthotics if you have them)

And a few other tips which might help you get through this year’s Christmas shopping calm and cool.

Save it for the shopping trip and share it with your shopping buddy!

“MY FEET ARE FLAT, LIKE FLAT FLAT!” 🥺
No need to panic - that’s just STRUCTURAL FLAT FEET.
When your feet don’t have a visible arch, they look flat all the time.
This type of flat feet is SO common and SO normal.

If your flat-footed friend is wearing Adidas Samba,
you might want to prompt them to either:
🐻 wear something more supportive & less flat like New Balance 204L perhaps
OR
🐻themselves some personalised support (aka custom orthotics) to look after their precious feet.

Some people with flat feet choose to better support their feet with orthotics for various reasons - from walking their dog to carrying a toddler on the hip while pushing a pram, which essentially is an endurance sport in itself.
