Time for a little reintroduction:

Hello! 👋
I’m Michèle.

This account has been on a bit of a hiatus, but I’m ready to reconnect and share my yoga journey again.

I am not your stereotypical yoga teacher. I’ve struggled with joint and ligament issues my whole life and for a long time fell into the mindset that in order to be a good yoga teacher, you had to be super bendy.

While I got more flexible, my practice as it was then was unsustainable for my body. I was struggling with constant injury and quite honestly, my practice made me miserable.
A little while ago I made the decision to step away from teaching and focus on finding a more sustainable way for me to continue my yoga practice.

Turns out, my body loves gentle movement. Yes I’m a lot less flexible these days, especially since I’ve added other movements like lifting weights to my routine (yay for maintaining muscle mass and bone health as I get older!), but my joints and ligaments are happy.

So now I’m back on the ‘gram. I’ve been sharing my nutritionist side over at (pop by if gut and skin health is your thing, or healthy aging) and will be sharing my yoga journey along with maybe some snippets from my spiritual practice and thoughts.

I can’t wait to reconnect with you all! 💖

10 years ago, getting lost in the most beautiful alleyways in Khajuraho and exploring the intricately carved temples.

Happy memories, smiling faces, napping goats, savvy shop owners, delish food, pool swim during a humid thunderstorm and one of my favourite places I've had the honour to visit.

Releasing morning practice dedicated to someone special.

I randomly opened at the Durga mantra and it couldn't have been more perfect if I tried.

Radiance Sutras offering more comfort and wisdom.

A coming home...
..both on the mat but also within myself.

Asana and I have had a little bit of a break. It was needed. I was broken and needed to focus on healing.

Of course there were gentle practices, but with a dodgy hamstring and knee it really limited my options.

Meditation and pranayama were my primary practice, along with living my yoga off the mat.

I've always been an advocate of listening to your body and this experience has reinforced how important that is.

I'm excited to return to the mat, I'm stronger but very much back to a beginner's mindset.

Asana may continue to weave its way in and out of my daily yoga practice, and I'm ok with that. There is no one way to practice, that's the beauty of yoga. 💖

No one wants to lose their home or their loved ones. No one wants to live in fear.

I stand with the Ukrainian people.
I stand with the Palestinian people.
I stand with the Eritrean and Ethiopian people.
I stand with the people of Afghanistan.
I stand with Somalians.
I stand with the Yemeni people.
I stand with the Syrian people.
This list sadly continues to grow each day.

I am heartbroken, I am angry, but I still have hope.

Squeeze your loved ones extra tight. ❤️

A thousand yoga selfies will never show the truth of my practice.

Sometimes it's a moment, or staged, but you don't see the dedication, the studying, sometimes frustration, occasional distraction, the sweat, the tears in Savasana, the release, or bliss.

While we all love a good yoga selfie, know that it doesn't really represent the practice. It's personal, different for everyone, private and intimate.

So don't ever feel disheartened or like yoga isn't for you based on the photos you see on social media. 💜

Feels like a lifetime ago.

I've enjoyed some time off from posting here. I've been diving deep and thinking about what I want this space to be for me as I'm posting more over on my nutrition page

I'm not 100% sure yet, but think this will be more an organic space where I can share my thoughts, travels (one day again when borders reopen), yoga musings and maybe even a little bit of my other great loves, nature, archaeology, history and mythology. We'll see. 😊

Hope you're all doing well.

This photo was taken on a really hot day at the Agra Fort. A beautiful and equally fascinating place with the biggest bath tub I've ever seen. 😁 I can never get enough of jali and beautifully carved stone. Exploring this huge fort you might come across a sneaky but stunning view of the Taj Mahal from one of the carved windows. Shah Jahan would have stared out at the same view during his imprisonment.

This has been quite an emotional week.

I can't thank all of the beautiful people I've had the privilege to hold space for and guide over the years enough for their support.

It was really though finishing up my last Vault classes this week. We have all been through so much together that it feels like we've become family. I may even have had a little bit of a mini panic for a moment doubting myself and wondering if I was doing the right thing. 😊

But I'm excited for my plans and offerings for the future. I also have no doubt I'll still get to keep in touch with my amazing yogis and yoginis.

If you're curious what I'm up to, I'm combining my passions of yoga, nutrition and slow living over at

I'll still post some yoga related musings, future classes and yoga related thoughts here, but I'll probably be a bit more active over at lifecyclewellness. So if you're interested in gut health, slow living and the roles yoga and nutrition can play in improving our mood and help us live less stressful lives, please give me a follow over at . 💖

This week I'm feeling all the feels.

It's my last week teaching the beautiful Vault & Corporate yogis and yoginis.

I can't believe we've been practicing together for 5 years. There's been babies, floor changes (along with forgetting what the new floor number is 😂), heartache, lockdowns, promotions, Zoom classes, masks, occasional power naps in Savasana and me always getting my lefts and rights mixed up or completely forgetting the English word for something. 😆

I'm sad and excited and semi panicking all at once. So just letting myself experience it all. 💖

Always humbled by this practice. Constantly learning, un-learning, a lifelong journey. No matter what goes on in life or how much time passes, I always return. 💖

Hello!

Welcome to Life Cycle Yoga!

I’m passionate about sharing my love for yoga (both on and off the mat). My aim is to make people realise that there is no one size fits all yoga, and that you can adjust your practice to suit your body and your needs on the day. I want people to feel empowered when they practice and be able to focus more on listening to their body and their breath and spend less time worrying about what the person is doing on the mat next to them. It’s your yoga practice. www.lifecycleyoga.com.au
