I'm also a witch who is passionate about decolonising the wellness space by bringing together science and ceremony to help my clients heal from burnout, unravel their 'Good Girl' conditioning and create a life that lights them up without burning out. I know first hand the impact of burn out. I was 28 when I hit my first burnout, and 34 when I was diagnosed with complex post-traumatic stress disorder. I guess you could say my perfectionist tendencies really wanted to make sure I was doing ‘burnout right’! What can I say, I’m a Taurus-Sun with a Virgo-Rising…Obstinate, headstrong, bull-headed. It got me to where I am in my career…and it also got me stuck in patterns that led to burnout, anxiety and overwhelm. My tenacity is what took me on a journey of discovery, from exploring metaphysical solutions to our current-day problems through Reiki and crystal-healing to exploring “science-based” approaches. I set up Amanda Louisa Coaching to help other high-performing career and business women like me learn to regulate your nervous system and unravel your Good Girl conditioning, so you can create a life that lights you up without burning out. You don’t have to slam into rock bottom multiple times in order to heal. My journey has resulted in a practice that combines evidentiary methods for nervous system regulation with a supportive spiritual practices. When you work with me, we work on your spirit as well as your physiological issues. Because we’re holistic beings, a sum of all our parts, and reintegrating all of these parts is the key to feeling wholeness and wellness. The problem we have in our society is that we try to ‘fix’ the body, ‘suppress’ the symptom and ‘ignore’ the root cause for the quick-fix which leaves us moving from one dissociative addiction to another. I’m a firm believer in decolonising the wellness space and re-integrating Eastern and Indigenous wisdom into our practices. For too long we’ve ignored the deep healing wisdom of the First Nations and Eastern wisdom that has caused a chasm within our own psyche. Reintegrating these practices with modern science-based techniques allows for a holistic approach to nervous system regulation and stress management.
