What a beautiful morning at our festive market stall 🎄✨

We were so proud to showcase the work of artist Jane Crossley and potter Rebecca O’Keefe.

A huge thank you to Yani, Orla, and my sister Bec for holding the fort in the Hub and running our ornament-decorating activity. The space was buzzing with creativity and conversation.

These mornings remind us why we do what we do — supporting local artists, creating gentle entry points into creativity, and building community one handmade piece at a time. 💛

So lovely to run a quilling workshop for the Perth City Farm team as part of their Christmas celebration 🌿✨

It was a chance to give back to another charity that cares for a special place of learning, peace and community connection.

Thank you to Bernadette Minchinton for introducing me to quilling — a simple, affordable and accessible activity that fits Peace by Piece so beautifully. She’d be proud of the pieces made yesterday (some pictured below).

At the heart of our workshops is always process, not perfection. Sometimes my favourite part is sitting back and watching people gently have a go at something new — even when they start out unsure or not particularly confident — and then seeing that discomfort soften as hands keep moving.

Before long, the room fills with easy conversation — colleagues simply enjoy chatting and connecting away from the usual work focus. Those moments of connection are just as important as the art itself.

There’s something truly special about Perth City Farm at twilight ✨

Last night, we hosted an outdoor creative wellbeing workshop surrounded by nature, softly glowing festoon lights, the gentle hum of the train, mosaics and vibrant murals. As the sun set, the space took on a quiet kind of magic — one that invites reflection, connection and creativity in a way few places can.

It was the perfect setting for slowing down, creating together and sharing meaningful moments under the night sky. Grateful to gather in spaces like this that remind us how powerful environment and creativity can be when they come together.

This Saturday morning, we’re so excited to be hosting two beautiful local artists at the Peace By Piece Art stall at the Festive Farmers Market 🎄

🖌 Jane Crossley will be showcasing her stunning abstract works inspired by the Australian landscape — layered, sculptural watercolour pieces that capture light, colour and aerial perspectives of Country.

With four of our regular members, I had time to sit, talk and share.

As we sat together, someone asked how Peace By Piece first came about. That question opened the door to sharing my lived experience of severe clinical depression in my early 20s, and how that challenging chapter quietly set me on a path that would eventually lead to creating a mental health charity.

Moments like these remind me that what we’re building isn’t just about art. It’s about trust. Safety. Shared understanding. And the power of being heard by people who get it.

Creativity opens the door — but connection is what stays with us long after the session ends. 💛

Shaping up to be a lovely day out!

I absolutely love when someone sits down and starts their session with, “I’m not creative… I can’t paint or draw.” And then — after just a little gentle direction, encouragement, and space to play — they create something truly beautiful.

Watching the delight, pride, and genuine surprise spread across their face when they step back and see what they’ve made… that’s the magic. ✨

Creativity isn’t about skill or perfection. It’s about showing up, trying something new, and letting yourself be surprised by what’s possible.

So proud of today’s makers and the confidence that blossomed in the room. 💛🎨
