Meet Delia our Housing and Tenancy Officer at Identitywa.
Navigating Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) can feel overwhelming and that’s where Delia can help.

Delia supports participants and their families to explore their SDA options, understand what’s possible and stay connected throughout the journey.

Once you’ve moved in, Delia will continue to support you, ensuring your home feels safe, comfortable and well maintained.

Delia will help you by:
• Meeting with you and your family to discuss what SDA could look like for you.
• Exploring SDA options and understanding what may best suit you.
• Offering ongoing assistance after move-in e.g. holding meetings with housemates, conducting maintenance and property checks.
• Answering questions and providing the support you need throughout the entire process.

Today on the International Day of People with Disability, we hosted a celebration of all abilities and inclusion. Identitywa participants came together for a wonderful event jam packed with activities.

From wonderful music, creative arts, sports games, activities and a beauty bar, to delicious food and refreshing drinks, it was a day full of laughter, joy and connection.

The International Day of People with Disability theme this year is, ‘Fostering disability inclusive societies for advancing social progress,’ and highlights the importance of collective action in building a fairer world, one that fully respects and upholds the rights of people with disability.

Everyone deserves safety, respect and equality.

At Identitywa we stand with survivors of family and domestic violence and call on our community to play their part in building a world free from violence.

The 16 Days in WA campaign runs from 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women through to 10 December, Human Rights Day.

Family and domestic violence is experienced at disproportionately high rates by people with disability, Aboriginal and culturally and linguistically diverse women and children and people who identify as LGBTIQ+.
