We’ve been keeping a little secret… 🤍

And we’re so excited to finally share it with our Messy Playhouse community.

Talya is expecting her second little girl due in August, and Jess is expecting her first baby due in September. Two little Messy Playhouse babies are on the way and our hearts couldn’t be fuller.

Messy Playhouse Co has always been such a special part of our lives — a space where we’ve watched little ones explore, create, and grow through play. Now we’re stepping into a new season ourselves as we both prepare to welcome little ones into our own families.

You may have noticed we reduced our classes this term. This was a very intentional decision so we could continue putting our full energy into every session. For us, it’s always been about quality over quantity and creating meaningful play experiences for the children and families who join us.

As we move through the next few months we’ll be playing things a little by ear with classes and schedules so we can continue to offer sessions that feel thoughtful, calm and well prepared — the way Messy Playhouse has always been.

✨ Classes are continuing as scheduled for now
✨ Gift vouchers will absolutely still be honoured
✨ We’ll keep our community updated well in advance with any changes

Thank you for supporting our little business and being part of this journey with us 🤍

There’s something magical about mud, trucks and open-ended play.

Our muddy monster truck station invites children to explore cause and effect as they push, roll and race their trucks through thick mud. As they scoop, pour and navigate the terrain, they’re building hand strength, coordination and problem-solving skills.
Play like this might look simple, but it’s laying the foundations for early learning through sensory exploration and imagination.

Sometimes the best learning happens when things get a little messy. 🚜🪵🤎

Play nurtures Belonging, Being & Becoming 🤍

In the calm of open-ended sensory experiences, children feel safe and connected. They slow down, focus deeply, and regulate their emotions through simple, meaningful exploration.

As educators, we see how these quiet moments build wellbeing, confidence and resilience — all while children are simply being children.

This is the gentle, powerful impact of play. ✨

Tiny Transporters Week is in full swing 🚤🌊

Our messy play tray turned into a colourful ocean adventure – filled with water, vibrant pasta “corals,” and lots of little boats ready to sail. The coloured pasta adds the perfect underwater reef vibe while our tiny transporters explore, scoop, pour and navigate their way through imaginative play.

✨ **Messy Play Tip:** Add a little corn flour to your water! It makes the water cloudy (less transparent) and helps the food colouring pop even more – creating a magical, ocean-like effect.

Hands-on, sensory-rich, and full of transport-themed fun 💙

Little Makers Studio 🎨✨

Our holiday Pop-Up at Victoria Park Community Centre was a beautiful celebration of all things colour, creativity and MESS! 🌈🖌️ From splashes of paint to hands-on art explorations, our little makers immersed themselves in open-ended experiences that encouraged imagination, confidence and joyful expression.

We absolutely love including a special take-home creation. It’s something our little ones can proudly display at home and say, “I made this at Messy Playhouse Co!” 💛 It’s more than just art… it’s memories, creativity and a reminder of the magic that happens when children are free to explore.

Thank you to everyone who joined us these holidays, we can’t wait to create with you again! ✨

🍓✨ Setting up something berry special…

Our strawberry rice tray was a BIG hit! As simple as it looks, this invitation to play was intentionally designed to support early years development through hands-on, sensory fun.

We added bowls, tweezers and wooden tongs to encourage children to scoop, pinch, grasp and transfer. These are all powerful fine motor movements that strengthen the small muscles in little hands. 💪

These are the very same muscles children use when they:• Open their drink bottles and lunch boxes• Put on their shoes and socks• Get themselves dressed• Hold a pencil or paint brush

At Messy Playhouse Co, we thoughtfully embed these foundational skills into our play-based approach so children are learning while they explore, create and have fun.

Play with purpose & learn through play. 🍓

Tropical Tots Beach 🌺🏄‍♀️

Dive into a vibrant beach setup filled with colourful coral, a surfboard ready for adventure, and plenty of messy sensory fun!

Cereals create a familiar, taste-safe sensory base for little ones to explore — perfect for mixing, crushing, scooping and pouring. It’s hands-on play that encourages creativity, builds fine motor skills, and supports confident exploration in a fun and engaging way.

Messy, magical and made for messy little learners 💛
