Autistic burnout is easy to confuse with depression and anxiety. It’s important to know the difference so we can access appropriate support and advocate for ourselves. This is especially true because many health providers don’t know that burnout exists, this is a fairly recently discussed topic in the research. If we accidentally treat burnout like it’s anxiety or depression, it is possible that you might get worse.

Burnout also impacts ADHDers too, it’s just less researched.

How do you know if it’s burnout or anxiety/ depression? Maybe it’s both?
