Women receive pregnancy and delivery care from their chosen specialist and meet all the specialists on the after hours on call roster. 'Good' communication with babies and children - what does it really mean? Itโ€™s about more than just words ๐Ÿค

Good communication includes:

โ€ข Giving your child your full attention
โ€ข Encouraging them to share their thoughts and feelings
โ€ข Listening and responding with sensitivity - even to big emotions like anger, fear or sadness
โ€ข Noticing body language and tone, not just whatโ€™s said
โ€ข Using your own body language to show interest
โ€ข Meeting your child at their level of understanding and attention

And it starts from birth.

You can build strong communication by โ€œtalkingโ€ with your newborn - say something, pause, and wait as if theyโ€™re responding. As they grow and begin to babble, babble back and see what happens.

We are POGS, your obstetrician practice in Subiaco, Mt Lawley, Perth and surrounding suburbs. We promote the wellbeing and dignity of women. We provide the highest quality care in obstetrics and gynaecology in a compassionate and respectful manner.

Our Perth Obstetricians & Gynaecologists practice is made up of our 3 primary obstetricians, 3 midwives and a supportive admin team. Our obstetricians are Dr Ana Perkovic, Dr Pierre Smith and Dr Patrick Wu.

We look forward to being your obstetrician. The team supports each woman and her partner, providing care according to their needs. Pregnancy is as an exciting time for the woman and her partner and our aim is a safe and pleasant experience for her childbirth.

Our doctors are the best Obstetrician & Gynaecologist team in Perth, focused on providing a full care service from pregnancy, to the birth of your baby and after with postnatal visits and care.
