๐๐๐ ๐๐: ๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฉ ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐๐๐๐ฒ ๐๐ข๐ค๐ ๐ ๐๐ซ๐จ! Burping helps release trapped air so your baby feels comfy and happy after feeds. Hereโs how:
1๏ธโฃ Hold baby upright against your chest or sitting on your lap
2๏ธโฃ Support their head and neck gently
3๏ธโฃ Pat or rub their back softly but firmly in an upward motion
4๏ธโฃ Take breaks during feeding to burp and reduce fussiness
5๏ธโฃ If baby doesnโt burp after a few minutes, try again after a little rest
Pro tip: A gentle bounce or rocking can help too!

Back pain is a common complaint during pregnancy. Most women experience back pain in the later months of pregnancy as a result of a change in posture and hormones that cause ligament laxity.
Here are some tips to help ease back pain:
โ๏ธ Maintain a reasonable amount of activity and include exercises to strengthen your back and abdomen as recommended by your physician or physiotherapist.
โ๏ธ If prolonged sitting is required, take frequent breaks to stretch your legs and back.
โ๏ธ Practice good posture to reduce the strain in the lower back.
โ๏ธ Wear โsensible shoes' with low heels and good arch support.
โ๏ธ A support belt under your lower abdomen may help later in your pregnancy.
โ๏ธ Sleep on your sides with your knees bent. If needed, place a pillow around the abdomen for extra support and between the knees to keep the spine aligned.

๐๐๐๐ฒ ๐ญ๐ข๐ฉ! Change their nappy before a feed, not after.
Most babies relax while feedingโฆ and thatโs often when the โsurpriseโ happens. If you change them first, you:
โ keep them more awake to finish the feed
โ avoid two changes
โ and save yourself at least 29 outfit swaps a week!
If they do go mid-feed, you only have to deal with one change, not two.๐

In honour of today's Labour Day public holiday, we thought we would share some tips for when you're in labour! ๐๐
Suggestions include:
๐ถ Drink plenty of fluid (water, juice or ice).
๐ถ Vary your position to keep as comfortable as possible.
๐ถ Have a bath or shower.
๐ถ Ask your support person for a back rub.
๐ถ If you need or want it, discuss having some pain relief.
๐ถ Resist any urge to push until your cervix is fully dilated (your midwife will let you know when this has occurred).
๐ถ The pressure of your babyโs head helps to widen your cervix, so use gravity and walk around, stand or sit upright.
