🎶👀Not your average Friday 👀 🎶

On Friday, some of our crew headed along to My Hero Disability Services K-pop event and had the best time. They got stuck into decorating toploaders, designing their own lightsticks, and jumped into a very competitive round of “save one, drop one”. 💙

The day was a whole lot of fun connecting with others and enjoying the music and creativity together! 😊

At Planet Support Services our support workers love sharing their passion for music as part of everyday supports 💙🤘🏻🥁

This might look like learning a new skill on an instrument, working towards playing your favourite song, putting on music you enjoy, singing along or just enjoying the moment together 🤗 All supports are guided by your goals and what you want to get out of your time!

Through these shared interests, we see confidence grow, connections build and people feel more comfortable expressing themselves 🙌🏻🎤🥁🎸

☀️Fresh air, sunshine and good company… a simple recipe for feeling good 💫

Getting outside doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes, it’s the simple things that make the biggest difference 💙🌿And with the right support by your side, getting out into the community can feel even more enjoyable and accessible 😊

Looking for ideas to get out into the fresh air? Here are a few to try:
🚶‍♂️Go for a walk at your local park
🌊 Sit by the water and enjoy some quiet time
☕️ Grab a coffee and take it outside
🛍️ Visit a local market or community space
☀️ Spend time in the sunshine with a friend

🐾💚 A paws-itively amazing new adventure 💚🐾

Over the past month, one of our participants kicked off her volunteering journey at Maryborough Animal Refuge and Pet Boarding, with her support worker by her side every step of the way 🐶✨

Trying something new can be a big step, but with the right support, it can also be really exciting! With encouragement, guidance and a friendly face there, she was able to settle in, build confidence and enjoy the experience (with plenty of furry cuddles along the way 🐱🐾)

Volunteering is such a fun and meaningful way to learn new skills, grow independence and connect with the community. And let’s be honest… spending time with animals makes it even better! 💚

We’re so proud to be part of this journey and can’t wait to see her continue to grow in this space 🙌✨

👨‍🍳 Cooking up more than just dinner🍽️

Recently, one of our participants teamed up with his support worker to plan, shop and prepare dinner together 🙌From choosing ingredients at the shops to getting involved in the kitchen, it was a great night building connection and everyday life skills.

And of course… it tasted even better being apart of the process 😄

At Planet Support Services, we’re all about supporting people in everyday activities like meal planning, grocery shopping and getting creative in the kitchen 🛒👨‍🍳

Because sometimes, the little things (like being involved in your own meals) can be the biggest wins 💙

With in-home support, we can help with:

What better way to build friendships and break down social barriers than a karaoke night 🎤😆🙌

It was such a fun night that supported natural opportunities for people to connect, grow confidence in social settings and build genuine, informal support networks that continue beyond structured services 💙

☀️ Making the most of a beautiful day out ☀️

We recently enjoyed a nice day out exploring, making the most of the sunny weather and some fresh air. It was great to head out for a relaxed stroll and take in the beautiful views 🌊 Days like this spent in nature are a great reminder of how important it is to slow down, connect, and enjoy the moment 😊
