3 Rules: ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

- Avoid Bed Rest (gentle movement is good)

- Donโ€™t Panic! Catastrophisation magnifies pain

- Get an Assessment (to rule out serious causes of pain and get you on the path to recovery)

3 Tips for moving with Acute Pain ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

- Move in the ranges of motion you find comfortable, moving where it feels good can help you to move where it feels bad.

- Keep movements under 4-5/10 pain threshold, some pain is okay with movement but too much wonโ€™t decrease your pain threshold

- Isometric contractions are a good place to start, activating muscles without moving through a painful range of motion (try posterior pelvic tilts or glute bridges to start)

There are three main types of physical stressors on the body:

โœ… Accidents and injuries (like this one)
โœ… Sustained abnormal postures (like most of us on our phones)
โœ… Repetitive actions (creating imbalance and asymmetry)

We specialise in not only treating your complaint but working with the underlying causes to reduce the chance of reinjury. Not much can be done for this one though, just wear your splint and let it heal ๐Ÿฅด and no netball for a while ๐Ÿ˜
