✨ Teaching the whole alphabet at once is overwhelming.

That’s why we LOVE following the Sounds-Write sequence when introducing letters (and a whole heap of other literacy skills at the same time!).

We start with a core set of 5 sounds/letters, then once those are mastered, we introduce 3–4 more ✅

Why focus on a few letters at a time?
Because it helps children:
✅ feel success quickly
✅ builds confidence
✅ strengthens memory through repetition
✅ avoids overload + frustration
✅ you can start using the letters to read + spell real words

Social Skills Groups Highlights ✨
This school holidays, our clinic was buzzing with connection, creativity and teamwork across our three social skills groups.

From pizza making and scented slime creation to lava lamp experiments and the ultimate challenge of building towers with kick bricks, our groups were packed with exciting, hands-on activities that encouraged learning through play.

Across all groups, it was wonderful to see children:
• Interacting with peers in meaningful ways
• Working together as a team
• Sharing ideas and interests with growing confidence
• Problem solving collaboratively when challenges arose

We’re so proud of the progress our groups made!! 💫

A huge thank you to Kiara for planning and leading such thoughtful, engaging sessions and to our incredible Sprout team for bringing each activity to life with so much care and energy. 🌱

It’s 46 degrees in Melbourne today and if you’re stuck inside (oh yes, we understand 😅) here’s some hot weather fun for your little one!

Use whatever your child is into right now - animals, monster trucks, barbies, blocks or even utensils from your drawer. Then model, depending on your child’s goals this may look like “wash”, “brush his teeth”, “big bubbles”. So many goals can be targeted through this simple (no cost!) activity.

✨ Welcome back from our Director, Grace✨

After a truly restful break, our team is back and feeling refreshed and ready for the year ahead 💚 We’ve spent the past few weeks soaking up family time, rest, and a slower pace before stepping into a brand-new year together.

You may have noticed we’ve been a little quiet here lately… and for a very special reason 🌸👶 Our baby girl, Summer, arrived a little earlier than expected in November. We’re all doing well and settling into life as a family of four and feeling incredibly grateful. She is the cutest little lady! 🥰

We’re kicking off 2026 with the launch of our social communication groups, which we are so excited about! This year, a big focus for us is presence. This means being more connected, intentional and engaged with our families, our team, and our wider community, both in-clinic and here on social media.

I’m so excited to share more education, behind-the-scenes moments of what makes Sprout Learning so special, our mission and values, and most importantly, to continue supporting our clients and their families in meaningful ways.

We have so much in store for 2026, and we’re so grateful to have you here with us 💫

We are so excited to launch our carefully curated and thoughtfully designed January social communication groups. Each group has been created to help children connect, communicate and grow through meaningful, play-based experiences focusing on shared interests.

This years themes:
- World Adventurers
- Kawaii Crew
- School Stars

As the year begins to wind down and Term 4 gets busy, many children (and parents!) start to feel the strain. For autistic clients, this time can be especially exhausting with changes in routine, sensory overload, and social pressures can all build up.

Autistic burnout isn’t just tiredness. It a deep, last exhaustion that can impact communication, emotional regulation and daily activities.

🌱 Take extra care to slow down where you can, protect energy and build in recovery time.
🌱 Quiet spaces, predictable routines, and supportive relationships make all the difference.

From wagging tails to shiny scales, our Sprout Speech team has quite the pet collection at home! 🐶🦎🐍 Chatting about our furry (or scaly) friends is such a fun way to start a session. It helps to build connection, spark conversation and share a few laughs (or fears! 🐍 ) along the way.
