Residents from Homestyle Point Cook Manor enjoyed a beautiful morning cooking session in the garden.

For morning tea, residents made a delicious sage butter pasta using herbs picked fresh from the garden. The autumn weather was perfect, and the wonderful aroma filled the air as everyone joined in to help with the cooking.

Residents enjoyed helping stir the butter and watching the pasta come together. To finish, the pasta was topped with cheese and enjoyed outside in the sunshine.

Cooking is always therapeutic, and spending time cooking outdoors in the autumn garden made the morning even more special.

Residents enjoyed a special in-home shopping experience, with families also welcome to join in and share the moment. With Easter just around the corner, it was the perfect opportunity to pick out gifts and treats for loved ones.

The morning was full of excitement, with residents lining up to browse and choose their favourite items, creating a fun and lively atmosphere for everyone involved!

Harmony Day at Homestyle Point Cook Manor

Residents and staff came together to recognise and embrace cultural diversity, beginning with a meaningful presentation on inclusiveness, respect, and belonging. Many shared personal reflections on what Harmony Day represents, creating a genuine sense of connection throughout the home.

A thoughtful and engaging day that highlighted the importance of understanding, respect, and the diversity that enriches everyday life.

Residents at Homestyle Point Cook Manor, gathered in one of the home’s most loved spaces – the dedicated cooking room.

With a fully equipped kitchen, residents rolled up their sleeves and worked together to prepare homemade meat pies from scratch. The cooking room is a special place where residents can continue doing something many have loved their whole lives, cooking, baking and sharing their skills with others.

More than just preparing a meal, the space brings people together. Around the table, residents shared stories, reminisced about favourite family recipes, and even gave their own little cooking masterclasses.

After all the preparation, everyone enjoyed sitting down together for lunch to share the delicious pies and the wonderful sense of connection that comes from cooking and dining together.

Wayne Jones, one of the wonderful residents at Homestyle Point Cook Manor, was honoured by the Point Cook Cricket Club on their annual Old Boys Day. This special day celebrates past players and the proud 55-year history of the club, with stories, laughter, and plenty of memories shared.

Wayne, a true club legend, was presented with his player’s cap (originally missed at the Player Cap Presentation Night at the MCG) in recognition of his contributions both on and off the field. The main oval at Saltwater Reserve has even been named The Wayne Jones Oval – a lasting tribute to his impact on the club and local community.

We’re thrilled to celebrate Wayne and watch the Old Boys tradition grow bigger every year!

This Valentine’s Day at Point Cook Manor, they are celebrating Ivan and Vera, whose love story began long before social media or smartphones. From a chance meeting when Vera was just 16 to reuniting a year later at a soccer match, they married in 1964 and have been side by side ever since. Their journey shows that love isn’t just about romance, it’s about compromise, laughter, and growing together through every season of life.

Surrounded by the love of their daughters, granddaughters, great-granddaughters, and now great-grandsons, their legacy is one of devotion, family, and togetherness.

Happy Valentine’s Day! May love be in the air and in our hearts today and always. 💕

Love was in the air this week at Point Cook Manor, as couples were invited to a special Valentine's Day lunch. 💕

The room was beautifully prepared by staff, creating a warm and welcoming space where couples could relax, connect and enjoy quality time together. The afternoon began with a short presentation on the meaning of Valentine’s Day, followed by a fun quiz with questions that sparked plenty of laughter, conversation and shared memories.

It was a heartwarming celebration filled with love, connection and cherished moments, a lovely reminder of the joy that comes from simply spending time with one another.

We were thrilled to welcome one of our favorite singers, Dave McMaster, to Point Cook Manor!

Residents enjoyed singing, dancing, and having fun, with plenty of laughter filling the room. One resident even joined Dave in song, making the afternoon memorable for everyone. It was wonderful to see everyone come together, tapping their feet, clapping along, and enjoying the music.

Residents of Point Cook Manor came together in the courtyard to enjoy a delicious BBQ lunch straight off the grill, thanks to the amazing staff cooking up tasty sausages and onions.

The sunshine, great conversations, shared stories, and plenty of laughter made it a perfect day spent together.
