Sometimes what we label as “behaviour” is a nervous system under load.
When a child’s body stays in fight/flight, you might also notice:
-A short fuse
-Reactive or shouting responses
-Behaviour that feels bigger than the situation
-Poor or restless sleep
-Jaw clenching or grinding
-Tummy aches, constipation or irregular bowel movements
A body that stays braced struggles to rest, digest and regulate.
Of course, these patterns can have multiple causes. But chronic nervous system activation is a common thread I see in practice.
If this feels constant rather than occasional, it may be worth looking deeper.
Supporting nervous system function can help create more ease in the body, and often more ease at home too.
