I’ve been asked recently about recording my sound journeys, but the medicine of sound isn’t necessarily in the what we hear with our ears as nice as it can be. The medicine is in the vibrations that can have an impact on our brain, nervous system, cells, or our DNA. It’s about what you feel, listening with your body. Feeling the vibrations, what works for you as an individual, to let that go, as much as what doesn’t feels good or right and to let that go as well.
BTW, did you know sound travels through water four times faster than air. This is because of the greater density of water, with sound traveling through water as a vibration of the molecules being much more efficient. This is also why whales can be heard from 10s of kilometres away when we put our head under water.
As we are 60-70 percent water it is far more efficient to experience sound through the body. Also why live events are so important to receive the benefits of sound medicine.
On the Sunshine Coast we are a little bit spoiled for choice of amazing sound medicine people like Marco Debie, Caroline Trengove, Rufus Rogey, Daniel Pauro, Chris Lane, Maetreyii My-tree, just to name a few. All of these fantastic music medicine people have events that may resonate with you. I honestly believe we are here to celebrate our common unity of sound to expand how people feel themselves.
My next Sound Journey is the 1st April at Tinbeerwah Hall. https://www.facebook.com/share/18X3jPDc6f/?mibextid=wwXIfr
Enjoy the magic of sound in the body.
