"Have you spotted this stunning mosaic stobie pole on the corner of Marryatt Street?
It’s the work of talented local artist Karen Forde, who discovered her creative spark during rehab after a life-changing accident in 2011. Since then, Karen has created over 48 mosaic panels across Port Adelaide and beyond, transforming recycled materials into vibrant works of public art, and teaching both kids and adults along the way.
This particular pole was made especially for co-able and CONFESSION, reflecting our shared mission to build warm, inclusive community spaces. The copper and green tones are a beautiful nod to the building’s past life as a church, now brought to life with Karen’s signature style.
Karen’s work is popping up all over the neighbourhood — is there one on your street?
Next time you pass by, stop and take a closer look — every tile tells a story."
