Did you hear that Bloom Wellbeing Director Sarah Hausler - Occupational Therapist, Author, Writer is presenting at an Occupational Therapy Australia CPD Empower event in March next year?

This two day training is specifically developed for occupational therapists supporting adolescents, teenagers and their families. Building on our work and learnings from the Puberty Plus program, this CPD event will look more broadly at the wide range of occupational challenges of puberty for young autistic people and young people with disabilities.

I'm so honoured and excited to have been approached by Occupational Therapy Australia to deliver this two day CPD Empower event in Melbourne next March, focused on supporting Occupational Therapists working with adolescent and teenagers.

With the National Disability Insurance Scheme now entering it's own adolescence (heading into its 13th year!) the huge numbers of children who have accessed the NDIS over the past decade are also ageing with the scheme. I've been hearing a lot of anecdotal stories from paediatric occupational therapists who are seeing adolescents for the first time in their career, or in greater numbers than they previously have, who'd like to feel more confident working with this client group, due to the wide variety of occupational performance issues that arise during the adolescence and puberty transition.

I'm currently delving deep into the literature and current practice trends to bring this brand new two day workshop to life. But I'd also love to hear from any practitioners out there currently working with clients in this age group about what you'd like to see covered in this workshop?

It's almost that time of year again if you can believe it! Please be advised we will be closed for the Christmas break as of Saturday December 20th and we will be reopening our doors on Tuesday January 6th 🎁

Our Bloom crew getting creative this school holidays 🎨
We tapped into our inner artist and challenged the team to paint self portraits in anyway they desired. Some opting for Picasso style portraits while others were Taylor Swift inspired (shock!)

Bloom Wellbeing are pleased to again be a team sponsor of the Metro Jets Netball Club C6 team, who play in the inclusive grade of the AMND competition.

This is the Jets’ second year in the competition. As a new and relatively young and inexperienced team playing in an adult league, they’re impressing us with just how much they’re improving and growing as players, and as a team, every single week!

Today was their final match of the winter season, and Bloom boss-lady Sarah even got to join in today as a substitute coach, as regular coach Elise was absent.

So proud of this team and this wonderful, inclusive club!
