When I saw this photo of Miss Evie, I did two things:

1️⃣ Broke into a face-splitting smile (this picture is pure joy 🥰).

2️⃣ Immediately asked her mum if cleaning the wheelchair was the support worker’s job 🤣

Curious about questions like this?

Join me and legends tomorrow at 12:30pm AEST for this month’s Decoding the NDIS webinar! We’ll be unpacking:

✨ The do’s and don’ts of support workers

✨ How to get funding for a support worker

Support workers can be absolute game-changers for families — but figuring out how they actually fit into the NDIS?

That’s where things get tricky.

This month, our Decoding The NDIS webinar in partnership with Kindship is on all things kids and suppor workers.

This FREE webinar will cut through the confusion and show you how to make support workers work for your family.

Here’s what we’ll cover:
✔️ What a support worker actually does (and doesn’t do)
✔️ Where the funding comes from — and how to ask for it the right way
✔️ Real-life examples of support worker tasks that make family life easier
✔️ Practical tips for finding, choosing & working with support workers

✨ We’ll break it down in plain English, explain reasonable & necessary vs. parental responsibility, and give you the tools to confidently advocate for your child.

📅 When: September 9, 2025 | 12:30 PM (AEST)

We’re three mums who’ve been there — navigating the NDIS for our own kids, and helping hundreds of families do the same. Expect real talk, practical strategies & lightbulb moments. 💡💬

To our families and community

We know many of you are feeling anxious after yesterday's headlines about children with Autism and Developmental Delays being “kicked off” the NDIS. The fear and confusion this kind of media click-bait creates is real — and we want you to know, we are here for you. 💚

When I listened to yesterday's announcement from Mark Butler, my stomach dropped. Not because I disagree with the idea of improving the system, but because the message was so far from the reality our families live every single day.

He hit the nail on the head when he said NDIS had become the only option.

The problem is that the other mainstream services are not yet set up to cater to the influx of what is now waiting for them around the corner.

And while the “Thriving Kids” strategy suggests families turn to GPs or online resources, we know how difficult that really is:
➡️ Families in regional Australia are already waiting weeks to see a GP.
➡️ Families under financial strain and other social factors struggle to access and navigate online resources.
➡️ Parents who are already exhausted are told to just “do better.”

We believe our kids and their parents deserve better than this. They deserve real support, not fear and finger pointing.

Please know, you are not alone. Our team will continue to walk alongside you, to help you navigate these changes and to fight for the support your children need and deserve.

For the parents. For the kids. For the future.

When I was diagnosed with cancer in June 2021, I went to the NDIS for help to care for my disabled daughter while I underwent treatment.

They closed the virtual door in my face.

I promised myself no family should ever feel that alone.

That’s why I started Alee Disability Support Services.

Today, we’re one of Australia’s most sought-after paediatric support coordination companies, helping families understand their plans, connect with the right services, and fight for what their children deserve.

💡 No Support Coordination in your plan?

That doesn’t mean you have to miss out on help.

We offer flexible private payment and package options so your family can still access expert guidance and support — without waiting for the system to say “yes.”

✨ You don’t have to face the NDIS alone — we’ll be by your side every step of the way.
