🧠There are many ways my mind can interfere with my behavioural goal…

Let’s touch on the BIG ONE…
* what will others think of me?
* What will the Pilates industry think of me?
* oh, you are such an imposter!

🦴Unfortunately Pilates alone was not enough to build up my bone mass ( as identified twice by a DEXA scan.)

👖Thank-you jeans!… oh I mean genes!

🏋🏽💊So the journey BEGINS with medication and weight training…
📣And so the journey CONTINUES with that mind chatter…
“Tut,tut…doing Pilates a disservice are you?”
“ Why share this journey, no one is interested…”
“Show off… such a bragger”
“How boring, so many are doing weights”…

🤫And the really big one…the one that has held me back, kept me in my comfort zone for way too long…
“You are not educated enough”…

So rotations are literally becoming a lost natural
movement these days.

Perhaps not…

Having clarified VALUES, we turn to goals.

What we are talking about is effective goal setting-
Not just a goal of “I want to get stronger”…”I want stronger bones”…
But rather a behavioural goal, broken down into important components…
For example…
* What resources do I have?This includes knowledge and skills.
* What is my time frame?A realistic time frame.
* Is it wise to work through this goal?Will this goal make my life better?

Effective goal setting is quite a skill that may require external help for clarification, guidance and motivation.

✨Can’t deny the ‘jeans’-oh, I mean ‘genes!’

🤔Knowledge of a family history of osteoporosis and fractures became the catalyst for an internal dialogue about bones and bone density.

🕰️ Time went by…
🗣️That brain chatter continued for many years…
🏃🏻‍♀️Life gets in the way, always busy and the bone
scan can be done “WHEN I HAVE GOT THE
TIME!”
