Parenting Neurodivergent Kids with Robyn

Parenting Neurodivergent Kids with Robyn Therapy for kids/teens and training/coaching for Parents that have kids with Autism, ADHD, Anxiety With compassion - Robyn Blackmore

I have an Advanced Diploma in Counselling and Family Therapy with post-graduate qualifications in Autism and Positive Behaviour Support. It's actually the 10 years of counselling in a school and most of all, parenting my own children with ASD, ADHD, anxiety and even PDA, that has given me a rich understanding of the challenges that come with these diagnoses. I believe these are some of the most difficult kids on the planet to parent. I know how it feels like to be absolutely desperate for help and on the verge, if not in the depths, of burnout, depression and anxiety. My desperation for help launched me into years of research; learning from experts in the field, finding the most effective strategies and doing all the very best parenting courses available. I now feel like I have a wealth of information and practical ideas to offer struggling parents for both home and school. I've turned my own family around and I would now really love to help yours.

Tell your kids what to do, not what not to do

Sometimes what you say isn't what you mean! Many children with autism struggle with mind blindness: taking words very literally and not being able to find the underlying intent. I'm sharing this with you because it's a strategy to decrease challenging behaviour by filling up their buckets with positive attention so they don't need to seek attention negatively.
