Job description
Disability Support Workers required now for immediate start. Port Macquarie/Hastings Area
Employment is shift work on a casual basis, with a fast growing and busy company based in NSW and providing Community Access and Home Support Services.
DESCRIPTION OF THE ORGANISATION
Lutan Support Services provides Community Connections – with a focus on Community Access and In-home Support for people with a disability, injury, and/or mental health conditions across the Mid North Coast Area.
THE SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Disability Support Worker is a valued member of Lutan Support Services and contributes to the development of service practice through daily updates, regular communications, planning processes and policy reviews.
The Disability Support Worker is responsible for implementing community activities, training and support services aimed at maximising the living, employment, social and recreational skills of people with a disability. Community inclusion, independence, decision making, and personal choice should be promoted through these supports, with a focus on individual needs.
Essential
Genuine desire to provide the best quality support for people with disabilities.
Reliable character.
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work and communicate effectively with clients, and other professionals.
Ability to work in a busy environment and to work both independently and as a part of a team.
Certificate III in Disability or other relevant qualification is preferred, however if you are willing to commit to obtaining this qualification we are happy talk to you about developing into the role.
Experience in the delivery of personal care services and/or challenging behaviours is an advantage.
Motor Vehicle – Comprehensively Insured
Valid Driver’s License.
Police Check Clearance current as at 1st February 2021 or NDIS Worker Screening Check. (Required prior start)
Current First Aid Certificate (Required prior to start)
Please Note: A cleared Working with Children Check is required prior to commencing work
