Meet Blush — our support dog, who is 100% convinced she is actually a cat and apparently has nine (thousand) lives.
The amount of times this dog has narrowly escaped death is honestly unhinged:
• Ate rat poisoning… twice
• Attacked by a bird of prey (yes, really)
• Jumped out of a boat and nearly drowned while trying to catch bait on a fishing rod
• And most recently — hit by a car yesterday
Because of course she was.
Blush was running at full speed to greet the lawn care guy (because everyone is her best friend), while naughtily crossing the road, when she was hit. The hardest part? The car didn’t even stop 💔
While she’s thankfully okay today, she’s definitely not her usual happy, bouncy self. She’s got bumps, scratches, a bloodshot eye, and a very bruised ego — but she’s alive, she’s resting, and she’s still here with us.
We don’t quite understand how this dog keeps coming back from things that should absolutely not be survivable… but here we are. Again. Grateful. Shaken. Hugging her a little tighter.
Please keep Blush in your thoughts as she recovers — and maybe send advice on how to explain to a dog that roads are not for greeting people 🐶❤️
