A little more Endo awareness

We know that many women, and persons, are missed & dismissed when it comes to endometriosis. It's one of things I really get angry about.

But while there are inadequacies in the healthcare profession when it comes to endometriosis, not all mismanagement can be blamed on healthcare professionals.

There are people who are not seeking proper help soon enough, and some not at all, and this can lead to long-term complications too. There are always reasons for that, and I get all the reasons, I really do. Unfortunately without proper help, this then just creates one hell of a mismanaged cycle that does not help anyone.

But as an Endometriosis Expert, what has prompted me to do this post is so that all concerned get to know what the serious side of mismanaged & unmanaged endometriosis is.

There is no doubt that this disease can be very devastating for anyone who has it, but what happens in the worst cause scenario, if it is not managed properly.

The following can be serious complications of unmanaged endometriosis:
Ruptured ovaries
Ovarian torsion
Obliterated fallopian tubes
Ruptured endometrioma
Pelvic infection/Pelvic pain
Obliteration of the pelvic cavity
Peritonitis
Sepsis
Obstructed/perforated bowel
Torsion of the bowel & intestines.
Bladder obstruction
Painful bladder syndrome
Multiple organs adhered together
Other organs damaged
Cardiovascular events
Stroke
Chronic nerve pain
Chronic musculosketal, or spinal pain
Chronic Migraine
Malignancies & cancers
Recurrent miscarriage
Permanent infertility
Opioid dependency & addiction
Psychotic disorders
Suicidal ideations.
Death (rare from endometriosis directly, but can be from associated factors related to endometriosis)

This is why endometriosis needs to be managed properly, and managed by a healthcare professional that is an expert in the management of endometriosis and associated symptoms. There are people who can, and will help you.

If you do need help with managing endometriosis properly, contact my clinic and find out how I can help you. Contact info@drandreworr.com.au or call +61 0451 408 898. In person & online consults available, no matter where you live.

Soo last week I was fortunate enough to be asked to present a little of our story around the support we provide in Cambodia. It was an honour to share how this came about & the journey thus far.
And I’m Quietly very proud of what we’ve achieved so far & more excited for where this journey will take us.
A huge Thank you to Rotary for the invitation & thank you to my friends & patients who cheer us on in the background.

Scars and their surrounding fascial distortions can have a tremendous impact on post-surgical healing. The fascia is the skeletal system of the sensory nerves, and when we get cut, the brain and that part of the body's ability to communicate gets compromised. That's why it is so important to prioritize scars! We often finds the abdominal scars/fascia overactive and the abs, obliques, and psoas underactive.
Most people aren’t aware that we can actually treat scars.

Chanthorn demonstrating one of the ways to mobilise your sciatic nerve.
Lying on your back
As you straighten your upper leg, you tilt your chin up & then reverse the movement.
Tuck the chin & relax the leg. Repeat up to 10x per session. If it’s gives effective pain relief then several sets can be performed

It's incredibly inspiring to witness individuals dedicating their holidays to empowering others in a different country. The profound emotion conveyed in these videos encapsulates the driving force behind such selfless acts. Why do we do it? Because we're capable, because we have access to resources that others don't, and because this kind of compassion has the power to create a ripple effect of positive change. This truly resonates with me, and every person who joined us on this journey experienced it. See reflection below

Thank you, b**g, for this meaningful opportunity and for sharing not only your knowledge, but also your love, care, and dedication. This project reflects a true spirit of compassion—sharing everything you have to support our Khmer people. Through this initiative, many lives are touched every day: pain is relieved, movement is restored, and hope is renewed. It empowers people to take care of their bodies, regain confidence, and live with greater comfort and dignity. Your generosity and commitment are creating real, lasting impact, and this contribution will continue to improve the quality of life for many generations to come.
