Port Macquarie Private Hospital is an acute Hospital offering medical, surgical and rehabilitation. It has been a leading provider of healthcare for this community for over 35 years. With 77 beds, Port Macquarie Private Hospital offers a comprehensive range of services including Bariatric, Dental, ENT, General Surgery, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology Orthopaedic, Plastic Surgery, Urology, Vascular, Day surgery and medical services. The Hospital has 6 Operating Theatres, 6 Chair Renal Dialysis Unit, 25 bed Rehabilitation Unit, a 5 bed HDU along with ward accommodation for medical and surgical patients in a combination of private and shared rooms. The Hospital is conveniently located in the heart of Port Macquarie on the beautiful Mid-North Coast of NSW, only 4 hours north of Sydney and 6 hours south of Brisbane. It is easily accessible by main roads with easy access from all the major arterial roads of the Pacific Highway & Oxley Highway. The Hospital is well serviced by public transport. The Hospital is owned and operated by Ramsay Health Care, Australia’s largest and most respected private hospital operators. Ramsay Health Care is an international company. Port Macquarie Private Hospital was constructed in 1979 and has undergone some renovations and extensions over the years. The Port Macquarie Private Hospital team is dedicated to providing the highest standard of care to patients in a comfortable and friendly environment. All departments are staffed by experienced and skilled health care professionals, who are familiar with the latest developments and research in their respective fields. The Hospital is fully accredited by ACHS (Australian Council on Health Care Standards) against 10 National Standards. We are proud to celebrate our own Jessica Southwell, Clinical Nurse and Midwife, who has been recognised as the runner up in the People Caring for People Award category as part of the 2025 National Ramsay Way Awards.

Jessica is known across our hospital for her warmth, advocacy and exceptional clinical care. She brings a calm presence to challenging moments, supports her colleagues with genuine kindness and ensures every patient feels seen and supported. Her commitment to high-quality, person-centered care shines through in everything she does, and this recognition reflects the difference she makes to our community every day.

We also congratulate Heather Black from Linacre Private Hospital, this year’s People Caring for People Award winner and Jack Reid from Donvale Rehabilitation Hospital, a fellow runner up in the category.

This is a wonderful achievement for Jessica and a proud moment for the whole Port Macquarie team. Well done, Jessica.

This week everyone at Port Macquarie Private will be cheering on Oscar, one of our much-loved work placement students, as he heads off to compete at the World Adaptive CrossFit Games in Las Vegas! 💪

At just 16 years old, Oscar is one of only three athletes representing Australia and will be competing in the men’s 20s–30s division. We’re so proud of his determination, and we wish him every success on this incredible journey. Go Oscar!

Last week, our CEO, Moira welcomed local Federal Member for Cowper, Pat Conaghan, for a tour of our ongoing hospital redevelopment.

The redevelopment will transform our hospital, expanding services and facilities to better meet the needs of our community.

This week we turned the first sod on a major $10 million expansion at Port Macquarie Private Hospital – a project that will deliver more services, greater comfort and better access to care for our growing community.

Stage one includes a new operating theatre, onsite radiology, improved patient rooms and expanded parking, with completion expected in 2026.
