Ending the year well 🌿

This is our final week of yoga classes for 2025, and I’m really feeling the invitation to soften and land.

🪷 Thursday 5pm — a gentle, letting-go practice to wind down and release the year

🪷 Friday 10am — our final class: nature-inspired meditation, gentle movement, and shared morning tea. Everyone welcome.

Lately my body has felt less like a “temple” and more like a compost pit — holding so much. Some of it mine, some of it not. Composting isn’t neat, but given time, space, and care, it transforms.

Yoga, nature, breath, and connection help us process what life throws our way so it doesn’t stay stuck inside.

This week the ocean helped. On a beach walk with a close friend — between tears, laughter, and even screaming out to the sea — we realised our people-pleasing hasn’t disappeared… it’s just matured.

These days it likes to call itself peace-making. So we decided to try something new: people-pleasing ourselves for a while 🤍

🌸 End-of-year offering
This is also the final week of my daughter Samaya’s body scrubs in the studio. A Christmas-inspired peppermint & rose salt scrub — fresh, grounding, and divine.
$12 per jar | studio this week | local Port delivery available (message or email before Friday).

I’ll be taking two weeks off over Christmas & New Year, returning in January and sharing more about 2026 soon.

Deep gratitude for this community — now growing for over two years and more than 100 beautiful humans connected. Thank you for being here 🙏

Slowing Down & Sharing Together 🌿

What a full week — and a powerful full moon — we’ve just moved through. As we head toward the end of the year, I’m inviting you to pause with me… even in the midst of the growing busyness.

Like the moon softly waning, we, too, can choose to slow down. Not by doing less necessarily, but by being fully here — feeling the breeze, the sun on your back, noticing the tiny moments that bring you home to yourself.

A little personal share: I’ve just completed my 50-hour Advanced Trauma Sensitive Yoga Teacher Training, with a focus on trauma, mental health, and body image. These themes are close to my heart, and I’m looking forward to gently weaving this wisdom into our classes as we move into the new year.

Let’s carry this intention together — slowing down in the midst of doing, being present with our breath, our steps, and the small beauties that surround us.

I can’t wait to practice with you this week, and to close our year together on the 19th.

🌿 Reflect, Release & Move Forward 🌿

As November ends, I’ve been reflecting on the lessons, challenges, and moments of gratitude this month. It’s been intense — including a kidney stone (ouch!) — but I’m so grateful for the love and support of our yoga community. Even small acts of care remind me how powerful presence and compassion can be.

I’m also nearly finished my 50-hour advanced trauma-informed yoga training, which has inspired, expanded and encouraged me in so many ways. Look out 2026!!

Dinner chats led by my youngest child — what we loved, what felt tricky — tiny anchors for the everyday.

A visit with a dear family friend who cared for me as a child… her wisdom about all the stages of motherhood felt like a warm hand on my back as life continues to shift and unfold.

Coming Home to Ourselves

This week’s classes hold space for both — the lightness and the heaviness, the energy to show up and the need to slow down.

Life often asks us to hold contrasts — joy and exhaustion, connection and solitude, doing and simply being. Yoga helps us find steadiness in the middle ground, where both can belong.

Honouring Change, Nourishment & Flow

This week, I’ve been revisiting a beautiful practice dedicated to Lakshmi — the goddess of preservation and prosperity. 🌸

Lakshmi reminded me that true abundance isn’t found in what we gain, but in how we cherish what already exists — the love, connection, and beauty that continue to flow through every season of life.

Her mantra, “Aum Shrim Maha Lakshmiyai Namaha,” was a gentle reminder that through yoga I can find support and strength, even as things around me shift and transform.

As Glennon Doyle writes:

“The truest, most beautiful life never promises to be an easy one. We need to let go of the lie that it’s supposed to be.”

🪷 Please note: there are no yoga classes this week while I take a short pause for a medical procedure (all is well — just a little health maintenance!).

Classes will return Thursday 13th November, renewed and ready to flow again.

May we all remember that when it feels like love, nourishment, and abundance have changed — there’s a possibility they may have simply taken new forms.

Embodied Empowerment

This week in class, we explored what it means to truly come home to the body — to move with curiosity, kindness, and awareness.

As I reflect on this theme, I’m reminded of this moment by a river in New Zealand — my daughter gently braiding my hair while I sat with my eyes closed, feeling the cool air, the sounds of the water, and her quiet presence behind me.

It was such a simple, sacred moment — a reminder that embodiment isn’t just found on the yoga mat, but in these small, everyday experiences of love and presence.

You might like to bring a little of this into your week — through gentle, mindful movement like a few Pavanmuktasana (joint-freeing) exercises, slow ankle circles, shoulder rolls, or soft wrist movements. Move with tenderness and notice how it feels from the inside out.

Lately, I’ve been reflecting on the paths we walk — the ones that wind and twist, rise and fall, and somehow still lead us exactly where we need to be.

This week has been one of deep inner work — honouring boundaries, finding my footing, and remembering to walk gently but firmly in my own direction.

Ever since I was little, I’ve carried the image of a red dirt path as my inner compass — a reminder to check in with where I am and where I’m heading. My time in Spain gave me so many beautiful trails to walk, and each one reminded me that we don’t need to have it all figured out… we just need to keep showing up, one mindful step at a time.

I’m also excited to be diving into Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Teacher Training with the incredible Sarah Ball. Yoga over the next five weeks — learning new ways yoga can help us find steadiness and healing from within.
