Merry Christmas!
Bright Beginnings will be closed from the 20th of December, and re-open on January 5th. We are looking forward to a restful and recharging break, and enjoying time with our families.

Over the past two days Tiaré has been attending some training in Brisbane, listening to Ross Greene.
The course covered in depth ways to support skill development in problem solving and emotional regulation, in order to help children manage frustration. Tiaré is looking forward to passing on this knowledge to families and supporting them along their journey.

Did you know that reading with your child is one of the most powerful ways to support their speech, language, and literacy skills?

Reading together helps children:
🔹 Build new vocabulary
🔹 Develop listening and attention skills
🔹 Understand stories, sequencing & emotions
🔹 Strengthen their imagination and creativity

Fun ways to make reading engaging:
🔹Use silly voices for different characters
🔹Pause and ask your child what they think will happen next
🔹Hunt for things in the pictures (“Can you spot the dog?”)
🔹 Sing or rhyme repetitive lines together
🔹Act out the story or draw your favourite part after reading

Remember – it’s not about finishing the book, it’s about connecting, exploring language, and having fun together!

✨️✨️Today Tiaré had the most beautiful session with a client who absolutely loved these toys and lined them up in her play. This is play! And it was the most beautiful, fun filled play. 😍

During this play Tiaré could target the clients' language goals, working on core vocabulary of 'more' and 'help'.

Working on a child's goals in their play and with their interests is by far the most effective way to engage a child and make progress.
At Bright Beginnings Allied Health, we pride ourselves on making our sessions tailored to every individual clients goals, interests, and communication styles. 🗣
