Sometimes Xmas isn't all sunshine and rainbows, so for our 9th Day of Wellnes, we'd like to give you some tips on how to reduce conflict and set boundaries💚
Choose your moments – Bring up tricky topics after meals or activities, not when everyone’s rushed or stressed.
Help out without being asked – Small things like setting the table or tidying up can prevent arguments before they start.
Take space when you need it – Go for a walk, put on headphones, or spend time with a pet to cool down.
Keep replies calm and short – If someone is edgy, a simple “Okay” or “Let’s talk later” can stop things escalating.
Avoid known trigger topics – If politics or school results always cause drama, steer clear during the holidays.
Use humour to defuse tension – Light, kind jokes or changing the subject can shift the mood without confrontation.
Set gentle boundaries – If a question feels too personal, try: “I’d rather not talk about that right now.”
Get allies – A sibling, cousin, or friend can help redirect conversations or give you an exit when things get tense.
Focus on small positives – Noticing what is going well—good food, music, a game—helps keep the mood steady.

The festive season can be a busy and stressful time year, so it’s important to take some time to look after ourselves.🎄

Here are just a few suggestions on some quick and easy self-care activities:
- Do some deep breathing
- Stretch your body
- Listen to music that’s makes you feel good or calms you
- Write in a journal or just write down 3 things you are grateful for
- Have a warming cup of tea (or something similar)
- Get some fresh air

This is only a small list, so come up with as many as you like and enjoy the little things that make you happy 😊💚

We’re here to help reduce some Christmas anxiety!🎄 Here’s 5 quick tips:

1. Limit doom scrolling and comparing yourself to others - most people only present the best version of themselves online, And comparing yourself to others only makes you feel yuk.
2. Keep your plans simple – don’t say yes to everything, this will stress you out!
3. Sleep – make sure you get enough sleep to help recharge your batteries.
4. Eat well – proper nutrition will help to keep your mind and body functioning at it’s best.
5. Talk to someone you trust – have a chat to a friend, relative, or a trusted adult if you're worried or feel you need some support. headspace can also help! 💚💚💚
