Lots of negative stuff floating around about how ‘ridiculous’ these pre-chopped veg are. And I get it. From an ecological perspective - ridic amount of plastic packaging.

But hey. These pre chopped veg are life savers for the elderly who’ve lost fine motor control of their hands. Amazing for people with intellectual or physical disabilities. Amazing for people who have major depression and can’t get out of bed. They’re amazing for people who don’t know how to cook, because no one has been taught them to, and now they want to try. Amazing for a parent who’s just had a new baby and crazy time-poor and about to lose their $hit. Amazing for that busy doctor doing 90 hour weeks. Or that person who’s just had surgery or going through chemo.

They’re amazingly helpful for some people.

Wellness peeps will rolls their eyes at this stuff and say ‘people should just be able to chop onions’ themselves but life ain’t that simple and we all know ‘wellness’ is really only worried about the rich, white, and able.

Ps. It’s ok if you have viewed these as terrible products before. This post isn’t saying you’re a bad person. It’s just giving extra information. And also calling out wellness influencers who spruik privileged stuff

A delicious warm pumpkin and shredded beetroot salad topped with grilled lemon chicken.
Ingredients:
Baby spinach
Red onion
Cherry tomatoes
Capsicum
Roasted pumpkin
Grated fresh beetroot
Feta
Toasted pine nuts
Chicken breast in a marinade of olive oil, lemon juice, mixed herbs, salt & pepper.
