We’re excited to announce 24 Hours of AAC - a new global virtual event taking place from 6-7 May 2026, bringing together leading voices in AAC for a full 24 hours of talks, insights, and discussion.

This event is for anyone with an interest in AAC - from people who use AAC and their families, to professionals, educators, and anyone passionate about communication access and inclusion.

Across the day, speakers from around the world will explore four key themes: Lived experience, AAC implementation, AAC everywhere, and The future of AAC.

By creating a space for connection and learning, 24 Hours of AAC aims to bring us closer to a world where everyone has the opportunity to communicate, participate, and thrive.

Super Core just got better!

The latest update to our Super Core symbol vocabulary brings changes designed to support even more meaningful and accessible communication.

Updates include new vocabulary, additional topics, improved symbol choices, safer language options and easier personalisation. Available now on both Windows and iPad for anyone using Grid version 99 or above.

🌍 Today we celebrate World Occupational Therapy Day 2025! 🌍

This year’s theme, Occupational Therapy in Action, highlights the creativity, problem-solving and compassion that occupational therapists bring to their work every day.

Occupational therapists play an important role in supporting people to access communication tools and participate in daily life. In the field of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), this includes recommending and configuring access methods such as eye gaze, switches, or adapted controls, and providing ongoing support so people can use their devices comfortably and confidently.

Our Speech Pathologist, Ashley, volunteered at the Variety Motor Mouth Camp in Bicton, WA this month, an amazing initiative supporting children with complex communication needs and their families.

The three-day camp helps children who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems connect, communicate, and have fun in a space where AAC is used in all activities. It’s all about building confidence, embracing communication, and celebrating every child’s voice.

"I loved seeing the AAC community come together and provide a really unique opportunity for families, clinicians and educators to connect and support each other,” says Ashley.

We’re proud to shine a light on the wonderful work of Variety - the Children's Charity WA , creating opportunities for children and families to thrive while celebrating the joy of communication.
