Terrace Clinic

Terrace Clinic Terrace Clinic is an AGPAL accredited practice. This clinic would provide a spacious yet warm and welcoming environment to all that entered.

Terrace Clinic came about as an idea between Dr George Pillay and Dr Andrew Jeyaprakash, our principal founders back in November 2004 who envisioned a new clinic to be purpose built adjacent from the Port Pirie Regional Health Service. We moved into our temporary clinic and were joined by Dr Santhosh Vellaiah-Retnaswamy, until the construction of our purpose built premises became a reality in May 2006.

Hernias can be hard to spot, so it’s important to pay attention to changes in your body.
25% of men will develop a hernia in their lifetime, compared to only 2% of women.
There are several types of hernia, and each can cause different signs, such as a lump, pain or discomfort when lifting or coughing.
If you notice any of these symptoms, see your doctor.

What is your runny nose trying to tell you?
The colour of your snot can have different meanings and can tell you how your body is functioning. Respiratory infections such as a cold or a flu, even allergies or hay fever might be some possible causes. How your runny nose is treated will depend on what’s causing it.
Here’s how you can take care of yourself at home:
😴 Rest
🚰 Keep hydrated
💊 Use a saline nasal rinse or nasal spray if needed
📱Use the healthdirect Symptom Checker if your symptoms become more severe.
To help stop the spread always cover your nose and mouth when sneezing or coughing and wash your hands regularly ✅

Heat rash appears in places where sweat collects, such as:
👉 under your breasts or armpits
👉 neck and upper chest
👉 skin folds
👉 groin
👉 around your waist.
See your doctor if the rash doesn't get better after a few days in a cooler place, covers a large area, looks different from usual heat rash, or keeps coming back.

Hot weather can be tough, especially if you rely on medical equipment or medications.
Here’s what you need to know:
💡 If your medical equipment needs power or your medication needs refrigeration, have an emergency plan ready for power outages.
💊 Some medications can affect how your body handles heat, making it harder to stay cool or notice dehydration.
👩‍⚕️ If you have a chronic health condition, speak to your GP about staying safe during extreme heat.
Plan ahead to keep your health on track this summer.
