Flinders Uni researchers have co-designed a new website with survivors of stroke to help people feel more confident in managing their health and wellbeing after stroke.
They need your feedback - if you take part, you’ll:
Join one online “Take Charge” session to talk about what matters most to you.
Get 4 weeks’ access to the website, packed with tools and resources created with people who’ve been there.
Complete short surveys before and after to help us measure changes in confidence, quality of life, and participation.

The team want to see 'who' this website is most likely to help - so they can guide future research and support more people in recovery.
If you’re a survivor of stroke, your feedback could make a real difference.

Approximately 1 in 7 Australians will experience depression in their lifetime.

Improving diet quality has been shown to reduce the risk of developing depression.

Our food choices also impact our physical health, sleep and exercise choices which may have additional mental and brain health benefits.

In general, improving diet quality means:

🍅 Increasing consumption of fruits, vegetables, legumes, whole grains, nuts and seeds

🍟 Limiting our intake of ultra-processed foods

🥩 Consuming red meat in moderation, and opting for lean choices

🫗Drinking the recommended amount of water

Researchers from Deakin’s Food & Mood Centre and School of Psychology Mind-Body Research in Health laboratory have published a new review looking at diet and nutrition supplements for people with endometriosis.

Led by Accredited Practising Dietitian Samantha De Araugo, the review included 13 studies that examined their impact on pain, quality of life, and gastrointestinal symptoms. Most of these studies reported some improvements in these areas, but only seven were randomised controlled trials (RCTs), which are considered the gold standard in research trials.

Among the RCTs, a low FODMAP diet was shown to improve quality of life and gastrointestinal symptoms. Supplements like garlic and trace elements showed potential for reducing pain. However, the studies varied widely in how they measured outcomes and were generally of low quality, often involving small groups of participants.

Better-designed studies with more participants are needed to confirm these findings and determine the benefits of dietary changes or supplements. Because endometriosis may be influenced by changes in the gut and/or vaginal microbiome, future research should explore microbiome-targeted diets and supplements.
